The other day I noticed two long thin rainbows on my ceiling in my bedroom and another strange shape purple and white square or trapezoid. I stared at them for a minute or two and turned off my lights on my ceiling fan and they were still there.
I then went to get my webcam from the other room (which only took a few seconds. I unplugged it from the front USB and came back right away) When I got back they were immediately gone. So I decided to go outside to see if there was some kind of rainbow out there. Not even a cloud in the sky and the sun was already over the house so that it couldn't have reached my window.
The strange thing was that front door, which has two locks, was locked on the bottom and not the top. I live only with my grandfather who always locks the top lock, from the keyhole, and leaves the bottom one, in the knob, alone, as do I. Needless to say this was strange. So I asked him, as he went to the store and came home less then an hour ago, and he swears he remembers locking the top and leaving the bottom alone.

rainbows are caused when light is broken apart by something like glass or water vapour in the sky. I frequently see "rainbow" like projections on my cieling too, they come from the reflections from other windows outside and then broken by the double windows. double rainbows are frequent occurances as well.
