The depth with which she has researched this subject is phenomenal. I have been fortunate of knowing some highly evolved saints in India who have corroborated with several facts and signs that she presented in her book - "SHAMBHALA - The Fascinating Truth Behind The Myth of Shangri-La". That entire story about Nicholas Roerich seeing the black birds in the sky while he was looking for this mythical land, is something that is mentioned in most rare ancient manuscripts of India.
Interestingly, Victoria Le Page mentions in this book that Agartha is the underground (subterranian) capital of Shambhala... I had first heard of Agartha in Patricia Cori's book "Atlantis Rising". And the curious cat that I am... asked about it to a spiritual master I know in the Himalayas.
This master spoke though of another highly evolved land in the Tibetan Himalayas that is called "Gyanganj" meaning "Repository of Knowledge" which is a place not visible to human eyes and is home to a lot of evolved human beings and ascended masters of various ages ranging from 50 to 1500+ years. The physical description of this land though was exactly as that of Shambhala, and I've always wondered if they were one and the same.

much love, light and laughter,
Asavari.
Victoria LePage's book 'Shambhala: the fascinating truth behind the myth of Shangri-la' is one of my favourites. Although it's not an easy read, I receive a lot of subtle messages from my 'terrestrial guide' just by opening the book at random. My interest in Shambhala was awakened two months ago when my beloved Guide telepathically introduced to me my 'terrestrial guide' who "lives in Shambhala".
I have read bits of information about Agartha in magazines and books, but my guide hasn't mentioned it yet in our 'conversation'. 'Gyanganj' is an unfamiliar word to me, but when the time is right, I believe the information will come.
I would highly recommend to you Jacqueline Decter's book 'Messenger of Beauty: the life and visionary art of Nicholas Roerich', which contains 88 full-colour reproductions of his paintings. Some of the paintings are housed in the Svetoslav Roerich Collection in Bangalore. I haven't been to Bangalore; the southermost part of India I've been to was Varanasi-Sarnath; and the closest to the Himalyas I've set foot on was Kathmandu-Nagarkot-Pokhara.
Nicholas Roerich certainly lived a fascinating life, and one of the few who might have actually, physically been to Shambhala. Others like, e.g. T. Lobsang Rampa had probably been there, though only in their OOBEs; but who knows?... James Redfield wrote a fictional action/adventure book, 'The Secret of Shambhala', in which bits of spiritual knowlege are embedded within acts of doubt, fear and hatred, as well as determination, compassion, and love.
Its great to connect with a kindred soul who likes V. LePage's work and is so enthusiastic about Shambhala. Yup I first heard about Shambhala in James redfield's book - The Secret of Shambhala. How I read Secret of Shambhala is a fascinating story.
My best friend and I always share spiritual stuff... so when I had this incredible dream about a place in the himalayas that was not accessible to everyone, but could be seen only by few people, I immediately described it to her. i get coloured dreams, so it was easy to describe it in detail. Then both of us forgot abou the this dream. Till my next birthday when she went to a bookshop to get me a present. When she gave the book to me as a birthday gift she said that she was attracted to the cover because it reminded her of the place in my dream.... and it was exactly like that. So I took it as a sign and read it.... and since then Shambhala has featured in my spiritual quest a lot. :-)
I've been fortunate enough to see Nicholas Roerich's paintings as they were featured two months back in a month long exhibit at the local museum here in Mumbai.... and what was more fascinating was that because the local museum is my client, I could go and see the paintings more than once. His Shambhala series was very interesting... one can pick up the nuances, because one has read about the place from other sources. You should sometime visit Bangalore to see them.
I've travelled a lot in the Himalayas - The Indian side of the Himalayas is called Dev Bhoomi (Abode of the Gods) and there is indeed something very mysterious about the Himalayas. Never been to Nepal, but been to the inner recesses of Ladakh, Uttaranchal, Himachal and Sikkim. A few years ago I knew an ayurvedic doctor saint in Mumbai (now dead) who had lived in the Himalayas for a long time to do Ayurveda studies from unknown saints in the Himalayas. He used to tell some fascinating stories everytime I used to meet him. He was one of the first people who told me that there are mountains higher than the Mt. Everest in the Himalayas, but these are not visible to Human eyes, as they are not of this dimension. This has been corroborated by many readings I've done in several books on the life of saints from the himalayan region.
You are fortunate that you can talk to your guide... I haven't reached that kind of level yet. :-) My guides have been physical beings. books and dreams. I get my messages through these mediums the most.
A little about Gyanganj - Its a place where saints from the physical plane go for higher studies. It's geographical co-ordinates are in the region of Tibet. It is a university of sorts that teaches the higher aspects of Yoga and Science. The Science that is taught in this university is light years away from what is taught in our terrestrial universities and schools. Gyanganj specialises in Solar Science (manipulation of the rays of light in the process of transmutation), Moon science (manipulation of the gravitational forces of moon as seen in tide formation), Constellation Science (not astronomy and projection science), Air Science, Sound Science and ultimately Creator Science (science of the Gods). Apparently Solar Science is the most important of all, and when one learns and masters this one, the other sciences become easy to understand.

Asavari.
Thank you sooo much for sharing with me some very interesting information on Gyanganj. This time must be right, because I'm now beginning to learn something about it - from you. One day I'll visit India again; I'll definitely include Bangalore on my list, and also Assam perhaps.
According to my extraterrestrial Guide, my terrestrial guide in Shambhala maintains a (physical) lightbody vibrating to the 5th dimension. Although I often communicate with him telepathically, I met him only once - in a dream. He was tall and lean, with wavy brown hair, and looked like a thirty-something-year-old character straight from the (Christian) bible, though he said he's more than 200 years young!...
August-September 2009 issue of Nexus Magazine (www.nexusmagazine.com):
"During the first century CE, Apollonius, a highly regarded and charismatic Greek sage, received "the call" and travelled to Shambhala. He had earlier received "directions" and knew exactly where to find what was then called the "Abode of the Sages" (A.P. Sinnet, Esoteric Buddhism, London, 1903 reprint from the 1883 original).
"Apollonius turned to Damis [his Assyrian scribe] and said, "We have reached men who are unfeignedly wise, for they seem to have the gift of foreknowledge" (ibid.). During his time there, he witnessed incredible things such as wells in the ground projecting vertical beams of brilliant bluish light. He also talked with amazement about what he called pantarbes, or luminous stones, that could be activated to radiate so much light that night could be turned into day at will...
"Not only did Apollonius see the people of Shambhala utilize the power of the Sun, but... he saw them levitating themselves two cubits [approx. one metre] high from the ground, not for the sake of miraculous display, for they disdain any such ambition; but they regard any rites they perform, in thus quitting earth and walking with the Sun, as acts of homage acceptable to the God. (Philostratus, The Life of Apollonius of Tyana, oc. cit., Book 3)."
