I am also one of those who have experienced some different forms of what is commonly called Ascension sickness. This morning, after doing a short MerKaBa meditation and then a rather complicated combination of "The Healing Codes", the Sacred Circuits and Chakra clearing, I suddenly became ravenous. I mean I had to eat NOW. I grabbed some chlorella, spirulina, cashews and almonds, all the time becoming hungrier and having an intense desire to FEED NOW. At the same time I was filling my stomach, it was giving me a different pain signal. Not interpreting it correctly and assuming it was just more hunger, I quickly downed 3 raw eggs as I do every morning followed by a Kiwi fruit. But the feeling was still extreme, so I ate one of my wife's breakfast cakes. It was then that I realized that I was not hungry anymore, but that my stomach was just giving off a sick signal and the sick signal started from the very beginning when I put the first bit of food into my stomach. I thought about it carefully, the eggs were not bad, the breakfast cake was a bad choice, but not the cause. The cause was an energy misalignment. So the quick fix in that case was to simply sit down and breath deeply and calmly for a few minutes until the feeling passed. In this case a 1-4-2 type of breath is most beneficial. Example breath in to the count of 10. Hold to the count of 40 and out to the count of 20. If you can't hold your breath that long reduce it to 5-20-10 or some other multiple of 1-4-2. Oxygen is a leveler.
We all know that along with our physical bodies, we have a mental, emotional, ego, and spiritual energy bodies. When they are not in alignment, then some form discomfort is going to be the result. Sometimes the discomfort will be extreme. Therefore and assuming the problem is a painful stomach, if calm deep breathing doesn't work, which should work quickly, then a longer meditation would be necessary. I would suggest the meditations provided by Inelia Benz at the Ascension 101 dot com site. I am not trying to sell her course, but it is available free to those who can not afford it.
An example of the symptom of extreme restlessness is when I get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and then lie back down and not only can I not sleep, but it feels like their is an energy war going on in my body. In this case a sit down meditation does not work for me. I have to get up even if my body is craving sleep at the same time. There is no way, that my body would be able to sleep anyway in this condition, so no sense whining about the situation. Here again the energy bodies are misaligned and the best fix I have found is qigong. (For me Spring Forest Qigong) With qigong, there is an a realignment of the energy bodies through movement. Now I am not saying that only Spring Forest Qigong is the answer, I am saying that form of qigong works well for me and when I lie down again after doing the qigong, I am at peace and can sleep. I would guess that Taichi or Yoga might also a similar benefit as long as the exercise is done slowly and without strain. These types of exercises have the added benefit of stretching. Just don't overdo it.
There are many tools out there. We just need to learn them or have them available, so that we can use them when the need arises. I think that sometimes the very thing that we are using to keep us well, sometimes will cause us discomfort because it raises our vibration in one place and creates another misalignment somewhere else. However, as long as we have other tools to to use, we can not only get by, but thrive.

Maybe best not to label it as a sickness since what's going on may indeed be the cure. Everything you detail here is spot on. The breath work is very effective. As you say, slow yoga and Restorative Yoga poses on the floor, going deep into the restoration is helpful. Magnets are working and can be placed strategically on the body where needed. Have also applied yoga sandbag weights to the restless locations and then relaxed into the pressure of the weight. Very stabilizing and calming to the muscles and nerves involved. Lying down, closing eyes and placing eye bag over the eyes seems to help the entire nervous system.
What's in the eye bags?
The pictured tea bags remove toxins but the rectangular, slightly-weighted eye bag stretches out over both eyes at the same time and relaxes all those muscles and nerves. Mine smells of lavender seeds, others are weighted with tiny, natural grains. Restorative Yoga teaches that the eye bag calms the entire central nervous system. Eye bags available through standard yoga equipment sites. If one doesn't have an eye bag, it also works to make the compress from a wet washcloth. Water produces weight and delivers compression to both eye areas.
Oh yeah, the first year I was here in China, I bought an eye massage gadget. It supplied heat, pressure and massage. Used it for a while, but then forgot about it. I always wondered whether the heat was a good thing or not so good thing. I took it with me if I remember correctly to Tianjin, but I don't think I used it once while I was teaching there and then didn't make the space for it in my suitcase on the next trip. Maybe I can find it in a drawer somewhere. Thanks for the info
yes, inelia does have collective meditations which im sure are effective (never tried it)...but i do like inelia :)
usually if i get any sense of a crazy episode; grounding really helps me!! nothing like gaia'n energies,
and inelia knows her stuff ! <3
Yes, I am so grateful to her. I forgot to mention that before doing the qigong, I always do 21 reps of Super brain Yoga. I try to combine things in as many ways as possible. There are so many good energetic remedies out there.
