It's one thing to identify the nature of the false world I perceive myself to be in. It's another thing entirely to actually make my way out. The idea of stepping out of the illusion is depicted and presented to Wisdom Seekers in many different forms and packages even within the world as we each perceive it. There are many religions that talk about Salvation of some kind, enlightenment of various kinds, Moksha, Nirvana etc. In the so-called 'New Age' movement there are many techniques that in one or another are set up to look like a way out.
Actually to be more accurate I have observed that much of what is touted around in the New Age movement is more about improving our experience within the illusion as opposed to stepping right out of it. Improving experience of sex through tantra. Improving our relationships through various forms of healing. Making more money and being a worldly success through various other techniques. Living longer and being healthier through various types of diets etc. All this is generally about improving our experience of life within the illusion. I will make it quite clear that there is nothing 'wrong' with this and that's not why I am pointing it out. . In fact whilst we are in the Dream then why not make it an enjoyable one? No point in it being more of a nightmare when it could be an enjoyable dream.
What I wish to impress upon your mind is simply that there is a difference between paths that are about ego/dream enhancement and paths that are about ego/dream elimination. There is a difference between paths that are about bringing a greater awareness of God into our experience of the illusion and those paths that are about stepping out of the illusion so that we can have a total experience of God in it's fullness.
So what is the way out?
Well, as I have not yet made my way completely out of the illusion I can't claim to know the answer from direct experience. I do know what has helped me to get to the point where I am at—where ever that might be. I do know, as far as I can, that I 'remember' many things that apparently many in the world have forgotten. Of course what I remember is 'my version of the story' so take from it what you will, and leave the rest behind. Take from it that which you re-cognise as Real within your heart.
I am aware of what my inner knowing tells me is 'the path' and I am living that path and so far it is resulting in what I experience as greater and greater liberation from the Maya, the ego, the discontentment, the senseless thinking, the fear etc that is all such an innate part of the human experience, and was an innate part of my experience within the Dream.
Forgiveness
I start with this point for I feel it is perhaps the most important and also perhaps something that is greatly misunderstood. I know that within my Dream I had dreamed forgetting what Forgiveness really means. I have since remembered. This is what I remembered.
Love can only forgive. I love you therefore I forgive you. I forth-give or give-forth that Love to you. Love is synonymous with Truth and with God. Hence to forgive is to forth-give / give-forth Truth to the apparent Other in my world. In Truth there is no other, hence I am giving that love forth to myself. So ultimately all forgiveness is about forgiving oneself—giving forth Love/Truth to oneself.
What is the Truth?
The truth is this—
'Everything is happening FOR ME and not TO ME'
I mean everything I experience, see, perceive, taste, feel, etc.
This is so because there IS ONLY I—That which I AM .
There is only One and in my world I AM that One,
Exactly as God created Me.
The Truth is,
That I AM completely invulnerable and are NEVER under attack.
As there is only One attack is not possible in Truth, in Love,
For attack implies there are two powers,
And one is attacking the other.
What I experience as attack—
Be that abuse from someone, robbery, slander, poverty, pain etc—
Is simply my experience within my projection of the Dream.
In reality it has NEVER HAPPENED and never could happen.
Forgiveness is the re-cognition of THAT.
Forgiveness is dropping my attachment to the Dream of attack and separation.
To forth-give Love is to forth-give Truth
To that which I Am creating within my Dream world.
Forgiveness is to lovingly give-forth the Truth that there was NEVER anything to forgive.
Please pause, breath, and Feal what these words mean.
Everything is happening FOR YOU—and not to you—so that you may see
Where you have forgotten your Divinity and replaced it
With a false imagining from the Dream.
Stillness
Stillness is my true nature.
As I am You I can only conclude that Stillness is Your true nature too.
I, me, you—it's all the same.
Stillness is there within each and every moment.
Stillness, like Love, is that common thread
That glues each apparent moment to the next.
Stillness, like Love, is the backdrop behind this Dream.
It is the backdrop on which this drama—the illusion—is being played out.
Stillness is so beautiful.
Stillness is so peaceful—filled with beauty, filled with peace.
I love Stillness yet at times—and time itself is in fact the issue here—it is so easy to apparently lose touch with the Stillness.
I say 'apparently' because Stillness is my very nature—thus I can never actually remove myself from It.
It is only my awareness that can shift focus
From the Stillness to all the busy-ness (business).
I am grateful—great-full (to be full of greatness)—for the Stillness that I experience.
It runs through my body and mind like a soft, gentle, loving flow of bliss.
Stillness is so beautiful—so full of beauty.
I Am that beauty.
Cultivate Stillness.
This is a big part of what meditation and prayer are about.
Meditation is about pausing.
Gently, lovingly and without straining against yourself.
It is so easy to 'try' to meditate and only end up in a battle with the mind.
Ignore the mind.
Know and feel right now that You do not need to think.
Stillness is the backdrop behind every thought.
If I focus on trying to eliminate thoughts then
Thought is where my life-force goes
And thought is what increases.
With that increase it because ever harder
To see, taste and experience
The Stillness that is forever there in the background.
Cultivating Stillness is a VERY IMPORTANT
Aspect of first mastering the dream,
And secondly,
Stepping out of the dream into Reality.
By 'cultivatin' I am not implying that Stillness is something you create.
Rather it is already there.
One is simply cultivating the Awareness and fealing of Stillness.
I Am giving my attention to the Stillness That Is.
Stillness is all about Love.
Meditation, as the cultivation of Stillness,
Is all about Love also.
Take time at least a few times a day to
Simply be in the Stillness that I AM.
Intention
Intention is about where I direct my spirit, my 'energy', my life-force.
Intention is about how I direct and wield my creative power.
If I—if You—intend to get out of the Dream then you will.
For that is God's Will.
God is the Light that never fails.
We only perceive the apparent failure of God's Will
Through attaching to intentions that go against
What God created through It's Will.
Each day, preferably first thing in the morning,
Before you have talked,
Even before you have hardly opened your eyes,
Bring your waking awareness to One intention.
The intention that
'I AM FREE and on this day above all else I want to see God's Vision
And experience that Freedom That I Am'.
Letting go of Thoughts
A few years ago I read in a very beautiful book (by Osho),
The simply statement that,
"I do not need to think. I do not need to think in order to live my life'.
In that moment this was exactly what I needed to hear.
All thought ceased for many weeks.
It was like a switch went off.
Of perhaps more accurately it was more like a switch went on,
And the light that shone was so bright that
All thoughts stopped.
I suspect this is when my love affair with Stillness
Really started to impress itself upon my experience of the Dream.
Eventually within 'time'
thoughts returned.
What happened?
Nothing happened.
Thoughts are there sometimes.
Thoughts are not there other times.
Thoughts are an integral part of the Dream.
So long as I am still participating in the Dream then there may be thoughts.
It's all about whether or not I attach my self to those thoughts.
Letting go of thoughts is not about fighting to stop thoughts.
It is simply about letting them go.
Letting go of my attachment to them.
For thoughts are not real,
So there is nothing to attach to.
Such is the forgiveness of thoughts.
Attaching to thoughts will,
Without fail,
Keep you firmly hooked up to the illusion.
If your intention is to step out of the dream,
Into That which is Real,
Then feal and deeply consider,
What it would be like to not attach to thoughts.
Attachment to thoughts,
Is an attack upon yourself.
So long as you keep attacking yourself,
You are bound to continue suffering,
And feeling 'stuck' within the Dream.
In letting go of thoughts,
I found it became much easier,
To simply experience Love.
I notice that my experience of Love, and of Stillness,
Only wanes—and even apparently disappears—when I am attached to thoughts.
Letting go of Wounds and emotional attachments
Wounds and emotional attachments are really,
Much the same, in their nature, as thoughts.
A wound is a thought from the so called 'past'
That is playing over and over and over like a stuck record.
Sometimes the record playing just needs
A firm shove.
Sometimes it needs some loving and detailed attention
In order to repair the record, repair the needle or even to throw the old record out.
Wounds and emotional attachments
Can get in the way of true feelings.
Feelings are the experience of that which is beyond the dream.
The ego does everything it possible can to identify with,
And attach to wounds and life-taking emotions.
Healing comes through allowing and accepting
The experience of these apparent wounds and emotions.
Once I allow myself to fully feel these apparent wounds and emotions,
I can thing bring them into Forgiveness.
One way or another—and there's really no two ways about it—
Forgiving is the only way to heal.
Forgiving implies Love,
Love of myself. Loving your Self and your self.
Self Love.
Forgiving is to give-forth Love to One Self.
With love,
Jonathan
