I have previously taken an interest in Carr's flying saucer, and despite never having seen it previously (till 2 years ago), I had my own designs based on very similar principles 20+ years ago (got to paper, nothing practical), and I was so impressed to learn of his work.
It serves the purpose for me of allowing myself to believe I'm not insane after all.
