The physical universe itself may have had a beginning – but this can only be true if there was a period oftime before the beginning during which the universe did not exist. In this sense, it would make the universe eternal and we ourselves have created the illusion of time just to exist here in our individual and collective realities.
Now consider with me if you will, prior to the possible universe'sbeginning, if there was nothing at all, not even space, then it wouldcertainly seem to be true that there was no time either. There is only the concept of etenity, if the universenever came to exist there would never be a need for such a thing as time. (This also makes the "Moment" eternal and still)
I have a very strange and personal conviction that the universe, as big as it seems, is simply there because it wants to be noticed. We are the ones who notice it, and in more ways then one with modern technology now have the ability to look very deep into it.
It therefore becomes paradox, at least to me, that God could simply be the universe, which also is eternal and we can literally look up at a stary night and see the "Back-side" of the Absolute, and understanding it is a whole different subject.
