The Bottomless Bit

"And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thaosand years" revelation 20:1-2I had a problem in understanding this 'bottomless pit' written in several places in revelation. Did this guy realy beleive in a tower of tortoises model of the earth? Gravity was easier those days when we thought that the earth was flat and everything simply move 'downwards'. However, this had its own dificulties. Amongs them, the posibility of bottomless pits.Eventually we came to discover that gravity acts centrally towards objects but not towards a fixed direction such as 'downwards'. This rules out the possibilities of bottomless pits but it opens a fresh can that we are still sorting out up to now. Gravity is still a great mystery. But Einstein revived yet another version of a tortoise model of gravity! I know that this fact is hidden by alot of fancy equations but fact is it is a tortoise model! The only difference is that the Einstein's tortoise's back is convex instead of a concave. So do general relativity also turtle all the way down? Yes! Infinities is the reason way gravity cannot be easily reconciled with quantum mechanics. So clearly, Einstein's version of gravity makes it possible for a different version of 'bottomless bit'. So this is the big reason why people have come to worry that physicists working at CERN are trying to open abysses and releas imprisoned demons! In mathematical physics, they have come to generalise 'bottom', like many other terms such as 'dimension' to mean something different from geometry. Bottom is generally the state of lowest energy. For instance the surface of the earth has a lesser gravitantional energy than up. So the surface lies at the bottom in some Hilbert Space. So in this 'space', we still come back to the idea of a simple 'up' and 'down'. 'Up' means higher energy level and 'down' mean lower energy level. Generaly, things narturaly move downwards in this 'space'. The famous 'mexican's hut' (a type of tortoise) is used by physicists to picture this. But when we consider the possibility of negative energy, there is nolonger an absolute 'bottom' in this 'space'. We can keep lessening the energy of a thing indefinitely. Such was the problem Paul Dirac encountered when he was considering an electron emiting radiation. He saw that electrons can easily spiral to a bottomless pit unless of course there was a tortoise somewhere. The tortoise was the Dirac sea which latter became the untimatter. So you thought that we are through with tortoises that may turtle all the way down? Then you are totally mistaken! But look at the way in which it ryme with what you may want to say. The demons should rather be termed as creatures of law energy level or 'vibration'. Or better, we might say they have negative energy. In physics, the surface of the earth could be assigned zero energy. Everything below the surface, i.e in the abyss will indead have a LITERAL negative energy and hence physic's version of 'demons'. So a bottomless pit is a state of every lowering of energy level, a typical place for demons!

  • Thanks alot LJ and FW. But I can't trail comments so I better post blogs?
  • I used to say earth is hell so make the best of it lol in fact I know some people I'd consider demons but that's another story... Very interesting... Demons aren't the problem maybe them collapsing the world on itself that's a different story.  I deal with people and certain ones may make demons look like saints. Just saying..... Thank you I loved your interpret very smart mind....
