Business astrology is not as old as human astrology, but it has a following nevertheless. My second astrology instructor and counselor was business astrologer Georgia Stathis in the San Francisco Bay area. She was a real estate dealer at that time, and her specialty was business astrology. I never thought of the use of astrology in terms of business analysis or the starting of a business or a venture. Nevertheless, I was curious, and I attended a seminar on astrology business cycles and how our own horoscopes reflect our business sense and ability (this was around 1985). I don't want to toot my own horn (as I have been wrong before with many predictions), but I was very shocked (and almost burst out laughing) at the time of her reading of my own chart before the other people there: she analyzed my horoscope chart and made a prediction that in the future I would become "an American astrologer at the home with a major and shocking impact on many." WOW. And my big concern at that particular time was the proper accounting of capital asset gains and losses per Internal Revenue Code definitions and Internal Revenue Regulations definitions!!!!
Ben-Arion (and if he is reading this, please correct me if I'm wrong) claims to have started AshtarCommand.net sometime between 11 PM and 1 AM during the time-frame of May 14, 2006 through May 15, 2006 (in Stockholm, Sweden). With this type of time-frame, trying to find the horoscope for AshtarCommand would be a serious challenge since the zodiac point on the eastern horizon (the Ascendant) and the zodiac point overhead (the Midheaven) moves one degree approximately every four minutes.
Three things stand out with this particular horoscope analysis per time-frame given: Jupiter was overhead (and conjunct the star of Acrux, which is very prominent with the occult, astrology, metaphysics, philosophy, and sacrifice), Pluto was conjunct the Galactic Center (which is very prominent with alien consciousness and crisis with one's religious beliefs), and Chiron (which is very prominent with UFOs and extraterrestrial life) was going stationary. This all spells out an event or start-up of something related to an "other-worldly nature," or "exotic philosophy studies with a different or an extraterrestrial other-worldly 'feel.'"
I decided to try to be fair and look at the middle area of the time-frame given by Ben-Arion. After much analysis (and yes, speculation), I have decided the following to define the horoscope of AshtarCommand.net:
I decided to place Pluto (on the left, at 26 Sagittarius 13') on the Ascendant (at 26 Sagittarius 05'). The "environment" (the Ascendant) would concern a "transformation of beliefs regarding extraterrestrial life or exotic philosophies and ideas, as well as potential crisis and research with such beliefs and ideas" (Pluto conjunct the Galactic Center placement).
I gave the Midheaven (at the arrow, pointing to 15 Scorpio 01') a World Point designation relative to the 90 degree Uranian Dial since this website has a "reputation" (Midheaven definition) for a worldwide following. This was a hard call since I was tempted to move Pluto lower from it's position on the Ascendant and to have Jupiter (nearby the Midheaven at 12 Scorpio 41') directly overhead and equal the Midheaven, or very close thereof, and have the "reputation" (the Midheaven) based on Jupiter conjuncting the star of Acrux. Note that constellation astrologer Vivien Robson claimed Acrux was ruled by Jupiter and was prominent with the occult, exotic philosophy, metaphysics, and sacrifice. I chose Pluto on the Ascendant instead, as transformation of others in terms of exotic or other-worldly philosophies, ideas, and extraterrestrial knowledge seems to be prominent in the environment and more pronounced than the Jupiter conjunct Acrux conjunct Midheaven definition.
Since the environment and reputation are now defined, lets look at the other points and house placements.
The first house represents the entity's appearance, image, and how others view the entity. Opinions from grass roots areas may also have an impact. Chiron is stationary and in the sign of Aquarius (9 Aquarius 46) in the first house. Chiron is strongly related to UFOs and extraterrestrial life, as well as metaphysical healing and exotic philosophies. My question to Ben-Arion with the flying saucer depicted on the web heading: have you always had a flying saucer or extraterrestrial indicator on the web heading? This is perfect with this interpretation per appearance of the entity, or general public perception!!!
The second house represents financial resources, and this house features Neptune (disappointments or money from much service), Uranus (sudden changes in financial value, up or down), the North Node (connections and important associates), and Venus (artwork, money from friends, pleasant surroundings, or general financial state). NOTE: Venus is at 13 Aries 05' in the second house, and during the previous Grand Cardinal Cross that took place last April (which took place at 13 degrees of the four cardinal signs (Uranus in Aries, Mars in Libra, Pluto in Capricorn, and Jupiter in Cancer)), Ben-Arion was soliciting a questionnaire to AshtarCommand viewers regarding a particular section of the website available for a subscription. Because this was financially related and related to "money from friends," this is another reason I like the chart that I chose. My advice to Ben-Arion: the site will grow (both per viewership and hence financially) but be careful who you donate money to or who you assign financial responsibility to, as this can have the potential to hurt you with this second house array of planets. Also expect a lot of surprises (up and down) in terms of changes per financial values, especially with the outside central bank nonsense going on with the Euro and the dollar.
The third house rules the media and communication avenues. This house is ruled by Mars (action, competition, the ability to compete). Mars is involved in a sextile with Mercury in the fourth house and a quincux with Neptune in the second house. This suggests well-organized communication systems at the headquarters of the business (Mars in the seventh house sextile Mercury in the fourth house), but potential for slight or scant financial tensions or slight or scant legal issues (Mars in the seventh house in quincux to Neptune in the second house). These aspects are very minor, however.
The fourth house has Mercury and the Sun in Taurus. Mercury is involved with a sharp square with Neptune, and this can define financial conflicts, misinterpretations, and confusion (Neptune in the second house) regarding communication capacity, interpretations, or standards (Mercury) at the business headquarters (the fourth house). The Sun is usually well-placed in the fourth house if the chief executive officer (or owner of the business) conducts a majority of his presence at the business headquarters or has a "business in the home."
The fifth house is recreation and speculative activities of the business, and this is ruled by Venus. Relationships and involvement with organizations of friends and important associates will be a primary recreation activity of the business. Speculative activities will involve consultation of such friends, but I reiterate this again: be careful who you donate money to or who you assign financial responsibility to.
The sixth house is public criticism and "those annoying small problems." This house is ruled by Mercury, and communication issues or misinterpretations with others may be the main focus due to the hard square between Mercury and Neptune. This doesn't define "communication breakdowns," but expect some annoying communication disruptions, or complaints/misinterpretations from clientele or friends.
The seventh house has Mars (at 18 Cancer 06') and Saturn (at 05 Leo 44'). This house is known for legal matters and overall relationships with others, both from a business and non-business perspective. The placement of Mars suggests that many clientele and non-clientele will have complaints presented to you, and the placement of Saturn suggests a narrow, stern, and exclusive atmosphere regarding legal relationships and careful application of the law to protect the business. Saturn in the seventh house can represent a "divorce" or separation from the business in the future, either for financial (sale) or personal reasons (health).
The eighth house is the bank account or bank resources, and this is ruled by the Sun. The Sun is involved with a very weak quincux with Pluto, and this may suggest slight tension present regarding just how much business "exposure" (the Sun) that the owner(s) is willing to associate with his/her own personal financial holdings. The Sun ruling the eighth house usually indicates that business shareholdings is mostly held by the chief executive officer itself (i.e. the owner), as opposed to multiple shareholder ownership or public ownership.
The ninth house rules education, publishing, philosophy, international involvement and impact, and religion. This house is the strongest and most promising of AshtarCommand.net's horoscope chart with Jupiter well-aspected and in its natural home. Lucky Jupiter is overhead and forming a trine to Uranus, a quincux to Venus, and a weak semisextile to the Moon. This placement indicates that the business will probably do very well in terms of any education mission, the advancement of unusual ideas, and formations of important relationships on a local or international basis. Note that the Jupiter placement in Scorpio (conjunct the star of Acrux) adds fuel to the fire with "successful transformation in exotic or hidden philosophies/beliefs" as the primary definition for this placement.
The tenth house is the house of the CEO (chief executive officer or owner), and this is ruled by Pluto. Because Pluto conjuncts the Ascendant, the owner will be much involved in the environment of the business and play a role in the "transformation" (Pluto) process that is probably the nature or mission of the business. There may be slight tension with public exposure due to the quincux between Pluto and the Sun.
The eleventh house is also ruled by Pluto, and this is the house of business associates and future plans via the help and consultations of associates. The tenth house placement of Pluto probably indicates that associates of the CEO/owner may be required to share similar insight regarding the business mission as the CEO/owner. Again, because of the quincux between Pluto and the Sun, expect slight tension in regards to associates and their contribution to the business mission.
The Moon is placed in the twelfth house, and the Moon represents the employees and clientele of the business (i.e. the programmers, bloggers, and forum visitors). The twelfth house is the most dreaded of the "houses of dusthana" in vedic astrology. It is the house of "secret enemies and spies," as well as "intelligence gathering" and "behind-the-scenes manipulations and activities." The good news is that the twelfth house is ruled by Jupiter. The bad news is that the Moon is placed in the twelfth house, and the Moon is involved in a hard square with Uranus in the second house (sudden changes in clientele/employees and financial values as a result), but is also involved with a hard trine with Venus (much close and loyalty per relationships with clientele, especially female clientele). This placement may define that your clientele can (for the most part) be your best base for support, but can also (to the lesser degree) consist of hidden problems for clientele that may unintentionally surprise you (or intentionally "bite you") when you are not looking.
