The joy of different views

Hey people, I have been noticing a bit of aggro in some of the discussions lately, and I feel this is unnecessary.

I personally value AC as a place to express myself freely, and I would like to think that I can do this without being lashed back at by those who see things differently.

There is absolutely no need for differences of perspective to cause conflict. This lowers the tone of any discussion, and inhibits free and frank expression.

So, please, do your bit to keep AC a 'safe' place to discuss different issues openly. Let's respect others' right to their own opinion, even when we don't agree with it. It is possible to express, and respond to, differing viewpoints in an open, respectful manner, without causing unnecessary conflict.

Variety is the spice of life, and I know that I really enjoy hearing others' perspectives on things. There is so much we can learn from each other, as we've all had different experiences of life.

Here's to free and frank expression! Peace!!

  • Pathfinder just because your world has gone tits up don't take it out on the rest of us ,I am sure we are all guilty of not being very stable because of the times we are living in so cut us some slack.
  • I know I'm guilty of this and it bugs me. I do try hard not to get underhanded OR high-and-mighty when discussing opposite views with people. I'll try harder now, because I couldn't agree with you more, Meryn!
    • Leila, thanks so much for this. Absolutely beautiful, and sooooo True.
    • thanks Sarah : )
      • I soooo agree with you, Merryn, that variety is the spice of Life. What a dull old world this would be if we were ALL exactly alike. Whew!!! How boring, huh?

I don't think there's anything more fun than a good, friendly, lively debate.....with the accent on FRIENDLY. LOL
    • ~ thank you, thank you, thank you for this post Merryn!!! ~ it's not personally aimed at anyone (i should think)... & it's simply a good reminder, & so true, even the "best intentioned" amongst us, can have difficulty looking outside our own finely crafted, hard won, & super~reinforced boxes of our prized sense of "self"... lol.. it's so okay to disagree. & it's so okay to have a passionate yet respectful show of different opinions/ perspectives! it's one of the best things about not only ACC, but human nature as well!

i believe if we always speak & act from our hearts & question our innermost intention (making sure that it comes from a true place of loving kindness, & not ego~based mentality) when interacting with each other here & in everyday life, & simply remember we are all coming from different environments, living arrangements, religious/spiritual backgrounds, cultures, life experiences, languages & dialectics, soul groups/ spiritual expriences, etc. ~ then, perhaps, we could ease up on each other a bit. a lil more gentleness... directing our "feistiness & fire" at a more fitting target ( & we all know there's lot's less to say, & lot's more to do in this life, & the current unfolding of our reality!)... so, suffice to say: thanks Merryn, & ALL of you ~my family! for being different! & being kind. & coming more from your heart! ~we all deserve this!~ xoxo
      • Indeed, it is so true that variety is the spice of life. Difference is to be celebrated, and recognised for the growth opportunities it brings. Maybe Earth is even a little bit unique, in bringing all us different beings together. And that's the way I like it!!
  • Can we not agree to disagree? How about disagreeing without being disagreeable?

I really wonder what various ones would do if they knew or believed that in 5D the communication is telepathic? Are you at the place where you would be comfortable with others reading your thoughts? Something to consider, huh?
    • Yes it is. But i think on 5D the souls are more in balance and less intrusive or keen on being right.
      • "less instrusive or keen on being right".....right on, Cedric. Reading the CWG series pretty much set me free from the "having to be right". And, if we respect our fellow man, then we aren't going to be intrusive, are we?
