Yes, Moors have a great history for about 500 years. However taking the word Moor as a base – especially when there are so many dialects was present at that time (just gives another theory) so based on some of the information - it doesn't mean black, Moreno means - dark skinned more likely well at least in Spain and Portugal. The term Moor was referred by Europe to Muslims especially those of North African Arabs. Now there are so many version of word Moor: and at that time France, Spain, Romanian have their own version of it – however it was used as to describe ethnic group speaking in Arabic Dialect. However the word “Mouro” – now this is interesting ;) is refer to supernatural beings, where ‘moor’ implies ‘alien’ – and those beings with golden or reddish hair and fair face. In Sri Lanka Muslims is referred as Moors, who resembles the Moors in North Africa. Plus Muslim is an adherent of Islam, which is considered the youngest religion - what about 1,400 only …
