It is one of the most beautiful pieces of post-modern architecture honoring all gods of creation, The style of the Sanctuary evokes Khmer Architechture, displaying hand-carved wooden sculptures indicative of the Imperial setting at Angkor. It has four gopuras, respectively representing images from the Buddhist and Hindu religions and mythologies of Cambodia, China, India and Thailand. According to the official website, its purpose is to use art and culture as "a reflection of the Ancient Vision of Earth, Ancient Knowledge, and Eastern Philosophy. Within this complex, visitors will understand Ancient Life, Human Responsibility, Basic Thought, Cycle of living, Life Relationship with Universe and Common Goal of Life toward Utopia".
While visiting I was told that it has been in construction for over 20 years, and it will be constantly under-construction for another 20 because it's made of wood, and the winds from the ocean actually eat away the wood!
