Dogs have proven time and time again just how clever they are, with them not only playing their part as a faithful companion but also taking on important roles in society. One dog has shocked people on social media, as it is capable of performing CPR to save the life of a police officer.
Poncho Works with the Policia de Madrid Team in Spain
The dog can actually perform CPR, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, something that many human beings cannot actually do. Poncho, the dog, is part of the Policia de Madrid team. He was captured on video showing how he performs this life-saving maneuver on his handler with the video with more than two million people viewing the video.
The video starts with his handler pretending to collapse onto the ground, where he lays lifeless. Poncho, the dog, runs across to the man lying on the ground immediately jumping up and down using his front legs, along with his paws to push into the chest of the man on the ground. The clever pup then rests his head on the neck of the man, presumably searching for a pulse before then repeating the CPR procedure again on the chest of the man. He then repeated his actions before going back to check the neck of the man.
Dog Uses Its Paws to Perform CPR on His Handler
While the video was taken during a demonstration with the handler only pretending he had a heart attack, falling to the floor not breathing, it does show just how clever the animal is. The dog jumps up and down extremely happy when his handler gets up from the floor to start praising Poncho for his life-saving efforts.
The video was taken during a show the Policia de Madrid.
