A senior member of Iran's Majlis has condemned the US for its “rash” confiscation of some Iranian cultural artifacts and its bid to auction the relics.

The US officials are making efforts to counter the Iranian nation, that has risen to achieve independence, by putting its antiques and cultural heritage up for grabs, said Chairman of the Majlis Cultural Commission Gholam Ali Haddad-Adel on Thursday.

He added that such bids indicate American officials’ irrationality and uncivilized manners.

Haddad-Adel emphasized that the Islamic Republic will make every effort to counter such a move which stands against cultural principles.

The senior legislator further stated that Iran would not retreat from its path despite the sanctions by the United States and the West, emphasizing that such restrictions would only reinforce the resolve of the Iranian nation and officials.

The US has threatened to auction Iran’s cultural artifacts which include invaluable Persian antiquities kept at the University of Chicago.

The US federal courts ordered the seizure of the items along with many other Persian antiquities kept in Chicago’s Field Museum.

  • plot gets thicker but the game is getting boring.............................

  • does no one see this is simply a tactic the US is using to embarrass iran like iran embarrased USA? iran caught a drone flying in its airspace, hacked it, landed it safely, are copying it, and when the US denied it they proved they had it then the US demanded, yes demandded their drone back after illegally sending it into iranian airspace. so iran sent the drone back, a cute little pink one a toy they ae selling million of there in iran :)

so now the US has to "hit" back, so they stole some artifacts and will publically auction them, insulting the iranian/persian culture, so this will either escalate into the war starting or will be the way iran gives the drone back to the US in a trade, a trade the US would likely re-neg on with certainty

    • lol, yeah you could be right here.

I'm already scrolling on ebay to find me a drone or claytablet.

      • i actually really want one of the pink drones, so awesome, i have said since i was a child i want to be around to see the fall of the american empire :) just a little longer, very "soon" if i may quote the king of "soon" salusa

here is a link about the pink drones

  • I am wondering why important Iranian artifacts are being kept in a museum in Chicago.  Shouldn't they be in a museum in Teheran?

  • they'll likely hide them in secrecy to keep the knowledge away from the people, not realizing the people grab their knowledge more and more out the field we call nature. :p
