Jake, I am so sorry for you loss. Your family is in my prayers. My son was murdered the first week in January 2011 so I so understand you feelings of loss and anger at the senseless murder of someone you love. My heart aches for you. It is not easy at all. I wish I had some magic words to make things better but alas I don't know what to say other than that I am so so sorry for your loss. I just try to tell myself that things will get a little better in time, and cherish the wonderful times I had with my Markie and send my prayers to the beyond. My deepest consolences to you and your family.
What a terrible tragedy.
Words cannot express what you are going through. But I have known what Death can do. How it effects one and others we all knew and the emptiness we experience when we see them not evermore. I also know within our Hearts is a knowing that transcends Death. We still feel them, our memory still remembers their lives and just how much richness they left us. They're still around, just out of site for most. I lost Parents and family (uncles, aunts and grand parents) friends and animal companions too. It hurts,and after a while the hurt will be replaced ever so slowly with the best memories you both shared, but when your ready for now grieve, get it out. Don't Bottle it in, if you do then , change it to something to honor both of you. From what I seen on the site. You already are.
If I may. I do this, every once in a while I look at pictures and I'm taken back in time to when we were all together. Time is fluid, forward, backward , all directions and Pictures seem to jet me back like an old novel does for my brother.
I know that Your Brother is still doing what he loved...Drumming and jamming with you playing "Galactic Heart" When your ready , maybe you can hear how he will still continue to play and finish the Album for him and you. If you want too. keep a Master of the "Unfinished Work" Listen to your Heart. It won't steer you wrong.

When my best friend died 25 years ago (he had multiple sclerosis) I didn´t know I would miss him even today.
