Definition: 2. vortices –It. plural of vortici meaning whirl or vortex.
Explaining the Vile Vortices
By definition, the Vile Vortices would be miserable whirlers but actually they are twelve vertex points of a planetary grid originally plotted by Ivan T. Sanderson, a naturalist and paranormal investigator. Sanderson first coined the term, “Vile Vortices”1 in his article “The Twelve Devil’s Graveyards Around the World” (Saga magazine, 1972).
The best-known Vile Vortices are the Bermuda Triangle, the Dragon’s Triangle (Devil's Sea), and the South Atlantic Anomaly. However, each of these twelve geographic areas is credited with instances of magnetic anomalies and other unexplained phenomena.
“Vile Vortices”
1. Bermuda Triangle (planes – ships disappear in green fog)
2. Algerian Megalithic Ruins (South of Timbuktu)
3. Karachi (Pakistan) - Mohenjo Daro, site of the Rama Empire
4. Dragon’s Triangle (Devil’s Sea near Iwo Jima, Japan) (planes – ships disappear – Japan officially calls dangerous)
5. Hamakulia, S.E. Hawaii (heaviest volcanic activity) actually, the focal point is in the ocean, more to SE of Hawaii. It is in the Ocean where some ships and planes have disappeared in the past.
6. The North Pole
7. The South Atlantic Anomaly
8. The Zimbabwe Megaliths
9. Wharton Basin, the site of the Wallaby Fracture Zone
10. The edge of the Hebrides Trench near the Fiji Islands
11. Easter Island Colossi
12. The South Pole
Highest on Sanderson’s statistical priority list was a lozenge-shaped area east of Miami, in the Bahamas, on the western tip of the infamous Bermuda Triangle. This area’s "high profile" of strange events, Sanderson concluded, was mostly due to the enormous flow of air/ sea traffic in the area. Other zones of anomaly, though less familiar, were equally rich in disappearances and space-time shift occurrences. ...
Another area of continuing disappearances and mysterious time-warps is the Devil’s Sea located east of Japan between Iwo Jima and Marcus Island. Here events have become so sinister that the Japanese government has officially designated the area a danger zone. Sanderson theorized that the tremendous hot and cold currents crossing his most active zones might create the electromagnetic gymnastics affecting instruments and vehicles. His theory is now being balanced against several."
Plotting the Vile Vortices
Ivan T. Sanderson, the founder of the Society for the Investigation of the Unexplained, was avidly interested in investigating ship and plane disappearances linked to the paranormal. In the late 60’s he focused his attention on ten areas that were approximately equidistant and were the subjects of reported unexplained incidents and/or electro-magnetic distortions2.
Ten of Sanderson’s Vile Vortices are located in the earth’s tropical climates; five of them fall within the Tropic of Cancer and the other five within the Tropic of Capricorn. The remaining two Vile Vortices are located at the North and South Poles. Together the Vile Vortices form the vertices of an icosahedron (a 20-faced polyhedron) 3.
Sanderson theorized that hot and cold air and sea currents crossing these lozenge-shaped areas might create the electromagnetic anomalies responsible for the disappearances of planes and sea-going vessels and the reported mechanical and instrument malfunctions in these areas.
Merging the Vile Vortices into the Planetary Grid
In 1973, three Soviet scientists (Nikolai Goncharov, Vyacheslav Morochov, and Valery Makarov) extended Sanderson’s theory in their article, “Is the Earth a Large Crystal?” published in a Soviet science magazine.3 They postulated that "a matrix of cosmic energy" made up of twelve pentagonal plates covers the earth. The article claimed that the junctions of any three of these plates (62 junctions in all) possessed unusual properties such as advanced prehistoric cultures, unique wildlife, or other mysterious phenomena.
The work of the Russian scientists outlined a planetary grid that built on Sanderson's original twelve Vile Vortices (see figure 2), overlapping Sanderson's icosahedron with a combination of icosahedrons and dodecahedrons in parallel with many of the earth's seismic fracture zones, ocean ridges and additionally portrayed the earth’s atmospheric highs and lows, routes used by migratory animals, and gravitational anomalies as well as the locations of ancient civilizations."2
However, planetary grid systems date back to the time of Plato (approx. 427-347 BCE). Plato theorized that the earth’s basic structure evolved from simple to complex geometric shapes; the cube, tetrahedron (3 sides), the octahedron (8), the icosahedron (20), and dodecahedron (12), known today as the platonic solids. He associated four of the five shapes with, respectively, the elements of earth, fire, air, and water and the dodecahedron with the earth’s prana/aether (life sustaining force).2,4
David Hatcher Childress, author of Mapping the World Grid observes “...we are speaking about an intelligent geometric pattern into which, theoretically, the Earth and its energies are organized—and possibly in which the ubiquitous megalithic sites are also positioned.”

There are 5 areas of the Northern Hemisphere near 31.7 North that are positive healing Energy Vortices:
1. Between Sedona, AZ & Sonora, Mexico - Hopi & Yaqui Indian, Hohokom waterworks, Sedona Healing Vortex ( magnetic anomalies at Torreon, Mexico). The calculated Vortex Focus is near the Papago Indian Reservation, W of Tucson, AZ, S of Pisinimo/W. of Cowlic/Vamori/Little Tucson. According to Ken Eagle Feather in "A Toltec Path" p.11, Castaneda's Books on Don Juan (Matus) were centered here.
2. Egypt - Pyramids (focus Energy), Mysteries, Rites, Energy, Egyptian Book of the Dead.
3. Himalayas, N.E. of Lhasa (Tibet)
4. Mid - Atlantic Ocean
5. Midway Island
Further North, near 50 to 55 North, are some well known Vortices:
1. Findhorn, Scotland: key Celtic/druid ley line: Calendish megaliths, Loch Ness, Maes Howe, Ring of Brodger
2. Kiev (Ukraine) key Eastern Orthodox Religious Site
3. Buffalo Lake (Alberta Canada), major Indian medicine Wheels
4. Hudson Bay, Canada north Magnetic pole, Ugansk Bay, Eskimo Art, Chubb meteor crater
5. Lake Baikal (Russia) – unique soil, strange plant – animal genetic changes

personally always been intrigued by this phenomena, just because we don't see it, doesn't mean it is not there (that's when the 'feeling' comes in handy, by letting yourself feel the energy). Apparently our body has the same vortices/vortexes (based on Tibetan knowledge) which do coordinate our energy flow towards our health and our youth and it help to expand our conscious. There are some legends in Tibet that somewhere ("hidden" monastery developed a unique method to live up to 200 years of age and up ... ) based on the balancing our body vortices/vortexes that holds the key to longevity. Actually it's very interesting ... they call it 'Fountain of Youth" ... or Five Rites ....
Thanks Andy ... ;)
