Yes, Greta is a ham actress, playing a part intended to shame adults [using fake science] and enrage/radicalize young people into direct action. This is a contrived 'climate emergency' aimed to achieve:
1. Greater powers for supra-national bodies over populations.
2. Carbon tax.
3. Restriction upon travel by the law abiding public, based upon 'carbon footprint' of the masses, with exemptions for elites.
4. Population reduction through reduced access to quality amino acids. Brainwash guilty people into not having children and if they do; mandate a poor diet leading to illness, sterility, death.
5. Cause mental health issues in target populations. Minimalist lifestyles with poor diet, poor education, so people feel guilt for living good their lives and having families.

That sounds depressing...
I've noticed the shift from genuine left wing idealism to guilt tripping eco-evangelism. I've seen political parties join this trend, but not every left leaning individual goes along with that. There are critical thinkers on all sides of the political spectrum. Left wing/right wing polarization doesn't help much. It's better to keep the good, get rid of the bad and to keep on marching ahead :)
what I mean to suggest is that Globalist Elitists control many; left/right.....Currently their 'one world government' development, lends itself to more support from a Leftist planning of economy and environmentally micro-managed populations....
