  • And you know we are lost as a species, when we have everyone trying to justify the killing of unborn babies, with one lone nut like me saying no, we shouldn't kill babies! I mean, for God sakes, what is the matter with this place lol Next they'll be saying "Well we should respect the right of a serial killer to kill, he has free will, and his freedom to choose should be honored!" Bollocks!
  • I think that abortion is a huge social issue, in regards to women's reproductive rights and contraception. Morality aside abortions would still continue, and it is up to us to provide safe and effective means to help women. My friend was telling me that Viagra is covered by insurance and the pill is not all while cutting funding to planed parenthood. Wacky....that viagra would be covered and not birth control......
  • Well I'll tell you what my mom did. At 17, she got pregnant. Her mom threw her out of the house because of it. She had no job, no place to go. She went to live in a womens shelter for a while. Everyone was telling her to abort. But my mom loved that baby, and understood this was her responsibility. She refused to get the abortion.

When the time came for the baby to be born, the government even tried to force her to adopt the baby. They stuck adoption papers in front her, and told her to sign it. You know what she did? She ripped the paper up right in front of them, and told them to get lost. She had the baby, she found a job and supported the baby all by herself. And today, that baby is my older brother, Matthew, a fine man, and a strong man who I admire. He just had a baby of his own, actually.

I asked my mom about it, she told me she just couldn't do it, she loved that baby too much. She knew it would be tough, but she was strong, and decided to trust that God would make a way for her. And he did. So you think about that.

Like I said, aborting the baby is choosing fear, not love. Where is the love and compassion for the baby? Where is the maternal instinct, and bond? Where is the sense of responsibility! I tell you right now, if I was a woman, and got myself pregnant, I would work 2 jobs, I would do whatever it takes to give my baby a good life.

  • No I am sorry if this hurts you. Obviously I'm not trying to hurt anybody. But if saying it's wrong to kill little babies hurts you, so be it. And please don't try to tell me men have no say in this, that baby is the fathers own sperm, I think he has a right to say something about the idea of killing the poor thing. So you can stop all this feminine stuff, it won't work with me.

And from experience, I know maybe 4 girls who have gotten abortions, some multiple times. And they thought nothing of it. They just wanted to be free and party, instead of being "tied down" with a baby to raise. That, in my view, is selfish and immature. I know for other people, it's different, but I still believe any decision for abortion, is choosing fear over love. Doubt, over trust in God. But I don't want to fight about this, we can talk about it without getting all angry, can we?

    • John,  I'm sure that you are a fine fellow and want the world to become a better place as do all the folks here at AC.  I think , nonetheless, that your consciousness isn't quite appropriate for a site such as this.  Your failure to grasp basic concepts of human rights reminds one of groups like religious fundamentalists who hold themselves as qualified to impose their values, beliefs and opinions onto others.  You go on and on about "saving babies" and even call for jailing women who chose to terminate an unwanted pregnancy.  You put on airs about not getting angry while advocating for a world where those who share your views would be empowered to force their values, opinions, and will on others.  I think you should seriously consider taking leave of this site and spend your online time with others who, like yourself, don't believe in sacred human rights, but rather want to force others to conform to what you want.  But, this site is so tolerant, thank goodness, that you are respected and your freedom to choose is respected as well.
      • Phylos, you address this issue very well.  You hit the nail on the head with the way you are able to write what you say with clarity.
      • What about the babys rights? What about the sacredness of that life? That baby has a right to life, which supersedes a womans "right" to choose death. So don't give me that nonsense. And don't you dare tell me to leave, because I have the nerve to stick up for the rights of those babies, murdered by the dozens of millions every single year. And don't tell me about forcing and control either, because it's you guys who are trying to tell me not to say anything, trying to say men have no say it in, and abortion is okay, and nobody is allowed to say different. The other side of the issue, can't even be brought up. So you think about that, and start having some compassion and love for those babies!
        • Nobody is telling you to leave, John.  Nobody is denying your right to choose.

             Ladies and Gentlemen,  "exhibit A"

          • Well, you know what that is, Phylos? That's called a euphemism. Defined as "a substitution for an expression that might offend or suggest something unpleasant to the receiver." Oh it's not murdering the baby, it's "terminating a pregnancy." It's not even a baby...it is "an unborn fetus". Sure lol

You can twist the words all you want to make it sound more pleasant, it's still a life, still a baby, and it's still murder.

          • You like to call it "murdering a baby".  It is terminating a pregnancy.  You say the unborn feotus has rights that "supercede" the woman's.  We disagree.  And I am through here.
