as much as I hate this opinion, Mayir , I must agree about no personal attachments.........(it's controversial approach to personal issues , on the path of past lifes and karma issues )..................One must take care of self , before self goes on teaching the village.......................
My son went to Catholic HS so the 'indoctrination' was not that intense but when they go to college the 'indoctrination' intensifies as I'm sure you know. The Dismal Tide.
for the food posting, yes thats horrible, in the USA they recently declared pizza sauce as a vegetable so they could continue to serve pizza in cafeterias because of new american guidelines requiring no "unhealthy" foods allowed in schools, since the kids just leave the sschool and go eat pizza anyways the companies who have the cafeteria contracts lobbies the US govt to change the classification of pizza sauce so they could keep their lucrative contracts.
the article you posted about the medical/religious issue however shows you are biased, the new regulations simply requires ALL hospitals to HAVE AVAILABLE WHEN ASKED FOR, contraceptives in the form of condoms, morning after pills for rapes and also emergency abortions for those who are having life threatening complications. the regulatin does not require the catholic hospitals to PROMOTE contraceptives, they simply require them to have them available in case someone asks, they ARE STILL FREE to preach about THEIR beliefs for sexual intercourse, they are NOT however allowed to DENY people healthcare because of a religious belief.
the bill is not forcing catholics to use contraceptives, in fact the bill is doing EXACTLY what the american constitution says that religion is not allowed to mess around with public services.
the catholics and other fatihs supposedly have hospitals to help people, yet in america those hospitals are not allowed to turn down emergencies and now for them with public healthcare being free finally there has to be the same care available at all publically funded locations, if those hospitals choose to be 100% privately finded then they are not required to follow any rules like this which go agains tthier beliefs, in canada we have christian hospitals that give out condoms and stuff and there is no problem. people are used to it and understand peoples health is more important than their spiritual belief and that if a person wants to wear a condom to protects themselves from aids and other diseases its better that than having people getting STD's.
the problem is actually the religion thinking they have a right to change public laws, no one is FORCING them to have a hospital, if they dont like the laws of the land which in that land say religions are not to interfere with public law then if a public law is something they dont agree with they need to choose if helping people is more important to them or sticking to an archaic religious stigma about not using sperm for only procreation.
as for teaching children about sex, they will be curious on their own, kids play games and firgure out their sexuality on their own. its not like they are teaching children how to set up sex dungeons, they teach children about the biology of sex and about safe sex, so that they do not endanger themselves while they experiment with their sexuality, which every single person does at some point, som start very young before puberty some start older in their teens, the goal of sex education in schools is to prevent problems with prejudice views about homosexuality and methods of pregnancy. they teach kids about these things so they dont say stupid things like " aids is transferred by sneezing and coughing and is a wrath of god typ plague sent down to kill them for their evil wicked ways which are killing humanity"
or other stupid things like "she cant get pregnant if she is on top or we have sex standing up" before kids are even in school they ask their parents about where babies come from and what the parents parts are about if they happen to see them naked or something. problems are created with sexual health education at THAT stage when parents use silly names for genitals like "down there" or " bird" " peanut' etc, these things instill right from the start that your body and your sexual parts/feelings/desires/ are to be not even called by their given names, this automatically causes sex to be something taboo and hushed when in fact none of us got here with out some rollin in the hay, and kids should be taught truthfully and honestly about what happens so there ISNT beliefs that are ill informed floating around causing stupid debates like this one to even exist

of course they do, as i said if we said nothing about anything sexual related to them they STILL are gonna ask and explore it, better to tell them how to do it safely than to have them hurt eachother or get sick or diseased because of them being ignorant because when asked about sex they are ignored or told outright lies
I do have a child, a 15 yr old young woman who believes in junk food and nothingness of such energy. So, I give her my piece of mind about it and she laughs at me on top of putting me down just becouse I do not support this. As a resoult of such challenges we have a stormy relantionship but I told her mother that this can't be good and "the mother" raised my doughter to contradic my opinions..................
I look forward to suggestions here, how am I gonna deal with this , ' couse my patience is running thin...................
to get back to this post, my not so little girl still believes that junk food for free is better than anything expensive that puts a dent in their households budget....................................Bullocks~!~
that 15 year old is approaching a time where you are simply going to have to let her use HER frewill to decide what is best for her, it doesnt matter if it is or not, you have to accept that you can teach and guide but not demand or force behaviour from people
