when pets die and guilt.

My friend recently lost her dog. Today I lost my goldfish, it would be natural to think that it was a bigger loss to lose the dog - but I'm crying my eyes out as well!  And everyone tells me to relax, that's its just a goldfish, but I actually felt a connection with the fish, oddly as it sounds. Even stranger, I dreamt that it died this night, but it felt more of an 'alarm' disturbing the real dream.

It had been in a muddy bowl for a while, I kept postponing the cleaning of the bowl. And today, the very day I bring the bowl to clean it by the sink - it lays there dead :( I feel its all my fault. The fish is free now, but I feel so bad for 'killing it slowly'. I should have cleaned the bowl weeks ago. I can't get over the guilt, and I realise its just a goldfish.

I just wonder if any of you had lost a pet that made an impact on your life, how do you cope- and how does one cope with guilt?

...now there is no point to feel guilt...what is done is done, and cant change.....
... next time, u should know better..to take better care of it at least...

i have lost cats too, and the feeling is very heavy and sad... those who have pets, can understand that....
    ...it passes only with time....
    take care...

"Lol, imagine being brave enough to face the half-pig men! I can’t un-see that now.🐷

It sounds bizarre but I suppose Nostradamus had to make sense of the 20th century somehow."
