It had been in a muddy bowl for a while, I kept postponing the cleaning of the bowl. And today, the very day I bring the bowl to clean it by the sink - it lays there dead :( I feel its all my fault. The fish is free now, but I feel so bad for 'killing it slowly'. I should have cleaned the bowl weeks ago. I can't get over the guilt, and I realise its just a goldfish.
I just wonder if any of you had lost a pet that made an impact on your life, how do you cope- and how does one cope with guilt?

Feeling the loss of our beloved pets is part of our experiences. All we can do is hope they will incarnate into a better world with better life. Who knows, maybe in our future incarnations, their soul and our soul might meet together again.
...now there is no point to feel guilt...what is done is done, and cant change.....
... next time, u should know better..to take better care of it at least...
i have lost cats too, and the feeling is very heavy and sad... those who have pets, can understand that....
...it passes only with time....
take care...
