Why "Om" is the "source sound" of the universe ?

I saw Robert Plant play a club in Dublin years ago.. there was a lull inbetween songs and he began to talk about the old Zeppelin days, it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop when someone shouted up "stop pretending to be an old man".. lol..

it was funny at the time.

And this is is why the more correct spelling of is AUM. It is supposed to cover all the sounds we can create.

Interestingly enough a newborn has a fully functioning, healthy ego. So its first proclamation to the world would be IAM. A variation on the theme.

My understanding is that "Aum" is an "onomatopoeic word". Utilizing a human word to express a sound - much as we say that a cow "moos" or a cat "meows". It signifies a sound that reverberates throughout this third dimensional physical plane. There are other sounds that proceed from higher dimensional realms, such as "ah", "ongg", and "hu" any of which if are chanted, attune one spiritually also. The "hu" (note the word human) is one of the most refined (higher dimensional) sounds. However, I feel it is misinterpreted when sung in full voice. Rather is it more like the sound of the wind in the pines. A whisper - rather; chant "hooooh" not with your vocal cords but through your lips and blowing out of your mouth. Or high tone it further into a "whistle". If one attunes to the inner "sound current" (music of the spheres) one may hear various tones, each emanating from a different realm/dimension. One may, by listening intently and focusing on a specific sound/tone, help to "go out of body" astrally/spiritually to the dimension it originates from.
