Ever hear of 'The scorched earth' policy? If they can't have the earth, they don't want anyone else to have it either! So 'they' are doing as much damage as possible! It's a very sad thing to do...but the light always wins in the end...there is plenty of hope!

You can place blame on external people on this planet who you think are responsible, and some of them are, but we also have to take responsibility to do what we can to solve these issues. We are at war with ourselves and until we can start to take responsibility, support people who do care about the Environment, and walk the walk, the Earth will continue to degrade because the people who live on it don't understand the gravity of their actions.
We have made some really good progress in the last 20 years. People have been more environmentally conscious than ever before, but one of the people who talk the most about our planet and environmental issues (Al Gore) has been ridiculed and persecuted by the right wing and continues to be to this day. Although most people agree with him, and the environmental movement as a whole, there are still people who want Zero regulations for corporations, and continue to refute that what we as humans do on and to this planet make a difference!
It takes humans time to catch on to what is real and to gather intelligence, and to some degree, we are already too late. That doesn't mean we should give up, everything we do matters - and stirring up anger and talking about shooting people does very little to contribute in a constructive manner.
