You'd think that  after millions of years of evolution, humans would have cracked the simple task  of peeling a banana, but apparently not.

The  best way to do it, contrary to how most us have been taught, is just like our  predecessor monkey friends do: upside down.

Method: Hold the banana upside down (left) and then pinch the tip between your thumb and forefingers (right)

Genius: The skin will split cleanly in half (left) for a flawless and easy peel (right), and you can use the stem as a handle when you eat it

Expert: At least one way in which monkeys have the edge on us humans

The glorious  monkey method works every single time and does make you wonder why so many of us  have been doing it upside down for most of our adults lives.

'The fact that I  am less intelligent than a monkey leaves me puzzled,' claims one commenter on  the video, which has amassed over eight million views and presumably transformed  the lives of plenty.

'Awesome. I am 62  years old and never knew that,' wrote another. 'So many wrongly peeled  bananas.'

Over 100 billion  bananas are consumed annually worldwide, and Americans eat more of them than any  other fruit on the market. So if word of the improved peeling technique  continues to spread, perhaps our generations to come will all be munching on  their bananas like monkeys.

  • I am allergic to bananas. They give me blisters in the mouth. :)

  • In order for the so called human race to evolve they need to catch up with the monkeys first...sounds funny
  • I've tried peeling bananas both ways and have found they work about as well as the other...not much difference at all. Much ado about nothing.

    • You're a regular Shakespeare-------Your legs are Longfellows-----

and they stink like the Dickens

      • Yeah, I know and I'm the fly in the ointment.

  • 1/3 of the population of the World will die from eating meat as meat will be so continamated that meat eaters will not know the real ingredients of the meat they are eating. It's already started and will get worse in the future. Most sickness and disease is caused by eating meat.... smoking, drinking Alchocol and addiction on drugs of some sort or another are all killers.
Stress and anxiety are other two killers.
Then there is wars and conflicts that will also reduce the population.
Continamated food and drink will further reduce the population.
Eating wholesome organic food is good for you.
    Bananas are excellent.
    • 1/3 meat eaters will die from it... So, WHEN will this happen?

The reason I ask is because during the 30 years I've heard people like you warn about this doom, the population of the world have nearly doubled in size. If people are supposed to start dying from all this unhealthy living, they better do it soon or earth will be completely overpopulated by people who were supposed to be dead more than 20 years ago according to the Fearpornists. ;)

Empirical evidence shows us that roughly 6-10% of the population dies from their life choices, but for those it does not matter Which life choice they make. They usually die early anyway since it's not about WHAT they do that matters, but rather HOW it's done. :)

      • 100% of all people will die..

        whether they eat or not.

        Just be patient...

        you'll be dead soon.
