And from a Russian perspective, Ukraine had the potential (then) to be a NATO and EU member....Which threatened the border....Moreover, the Russian speaking people of Donetsk, eastern Ukraine, had been under artillery shelling since 2014, non-stop...Until Russia's recent special operation to de-nazify the country...
The western media have not be covering tensions with Russia, over Ukraine, until the Russian response in February this year...
Moreover, note how they constantly tried to blacken Russia's name over the "Russiagate" stories, in 2016..?? Trump was voted in and Hillary Clinton accused "Russian hackers" of stealing confidential emails from the DNC, when in fact, it was DNC insider, Seth Rich, who was murdered in July 2016, for stealing the data on a thumb drive...
