Bill Hicks was an under appreciated genius of his time. His message is just as current now as it was back in the nineties, and no one could tell it like Bill. Please be warned that the language is very adult and the concepts at times may make you feel uncomfortable. Of course, that is his intention; Bill liked to push the boundaries and show us a new view of ourselves. He influenced a whole generation of comics with his "truther" style of comedy and yet has never been publically celebrated by the media. Bill dealt with his cancer with dignity and kept touring until nearly the end, and he never lost his sense of humor, he always said it was "Just a ride" and talked often of the "prankster god". I highly recommend seeking out the numerous specials he has recorded, despite his sometimes abrasive manner, he leaves you with a feeling of hope for our world, and that is a good feeling :-) He affirms that we aren't alone in noticing how messed up our world is; let's celebrate a gifted comedian who left us too soon.

Sweet post, Kelly... Bill Hicks is one of my heroes... a true Genius & a Visionary.
I put his Intellectual & Spiritual acuity right up there with Multidimensional Teachers like McKenna & Watts...
& you're absolutely right, his Living Message is Timeless... as vital today as it ever was. ~InLight555

Thank you, Stick :-) Good one, this is one of my favorite bits. I love how he was like a beat poet with attitude. According to his documentary, he was very into McKenna and went on spiritual quests as a young man, he was seeking meaning in life. He is a legend, none like him, though some have tried.
i never heard of Bill Hicks Kelly and he certainly tells the truth and we need more individuals like him ..thanks for sharing Kelly .
You're welcome, Hellen :-) It's sad that he is gone...
Thank you, Kelly ... I love Bill Hicks :-)
and yes I always feel hopefull when I listen to him, its sad that he passed away so young but he shinned very brightly while he was here. Not so many comedians these days are as articulate or as aware as he was. I love his confidence too, he didnt seem to care what others thought, it takes a strong will to perform like that I think :-)
Thanks, Luke...he was a shining star in a sea of ignorance. Lol, during his time acts like Gallaghers watermelon smashing was all the rage, he used to get so upset about it and tried to shake people out of their complacency. But he had a soft side too... he was really into music and poetry... too bad he is known for being so bombastic...

When the night is falling
And the sky is so deep
I can hear you calling
From beyond your sleep
And the moon is smiling
Down on me
And the moon is smiling
Down on me
When the breeze is blowing
And the curtains rise
See a million stars
Shining like your eyes
And the moon is smiling
Down on me
And the moon is smiling
Down on me
You and I got the moon on our side
You and I got the moon on our side
Hear the night bird calling
The wind through his wings
And the dawn is stalling
For this night's still dreams
And the moon is smiling
Down on me
And the moon is smiling
Down on me
You and I got the moon on our side
You and I got the moon on our side
