i have always tried to be the "strong, reasonable parent" with my indigo. and it ends up wearing me down to a nub when i'm just too drained to withstand the constant onslaught. almost every morning on our way to drop him off, be will begin his first conversation with. . . ."you know what i hate?" i have tried starting the conversation first, but it will quickly be turned around to that exact phrase within minutes. his dad has given up on him completely and is now focusing all his emotional and financial support on our older son who is planning on going to graduate school after he volunteers for unicef or the peace corps for a year or two. so, i'm basically doing it on my own. my ex is a wonderful man, but he doesn't feel like he can keep pouring resources into a child who thinks he knows everything, but won't allow us to be parents. i can only get through to him when i treat him as my equal.
Dear Maindert,
Thanks for this video....
