This concerns people who do kundalini yoga using pranayama practices from India. I decided to post it for general information about what yogis do

This morning during exercises Swami Rama appeared. He had mastered pranayama practice during his youth and then when it was near the end of his body, he pushed his life force out through the sushumna passage and through the crown of the head. In explaining that action, he told me that it has to do with teaching kundalini a new route for its passage.

There was a conversation like this:

“What is its old route Swami?”

He replied, “Sexual access and excretion passage is its old route. It prefers sexual access but nature dictates that it become more accustomed to excretionas a matter of routine. Hence when the body dies, a person usually becomes occupied with either constipation or diarrhea and due to that, kundalini takes the route which it runs food through on a daily basis That road or highway endsat the anus.

“It has nothing to do with religious affiliation, superstition or a person’s philosophy. Suppose I am a great philosopher. I have figured out the by-ways ofhuman activity. Or suppose I am the leader of a religious sect. Then will I be spared constipation or diarrhea at the time of departure from the body? And will I be able to keep my mind from becoming occupied with such problems inthe body when it is near its death?

“Have I stopped kundalini from getting used to the highway that ends at the anus and the one which runs through the pleasure-yielding nerves in thegenitals?

“Well if I have not done that, it means that kundalini will take the lower passage outof the body at death, and the self will have to follow it through that passage and then where will it come out, into which dimension, into a dark astral worldor into one which full of light?

“I will still have my philosophy or religion or creed or belief or lack of belief orwhatever but where will I be with it?

“So in yoga there is this solution which was given to us by ancient masters like Rishi Gorakshnath, whereby we train kundalini to forget the lower highway and to learn how to use the highest highway which leads to the top of the head and beyond in higher subtle dimensions.

“Thereare two ways of mastering this process of controlled departure of kundalini atthe time of death. The first and best method is to master the process of kundalini yoga in the youth of the body before say about 16 years of age. I did that when I had my last body. This is the best way but it is not an easy achievement because it hinges not on your decision in the new body but on the decision in the last life and providence’s cooperation. If in the last life you mastered yoga to a great degree and then you pass on, and if providence cooperates with your plan and set you into a birth environment where you can begin yoga practice in childhood, then you can use this first and best process.

“However since providence does not care a hoot about anybody and regards everyone as mere straws blowing about in the winds of existence, it is usually the case,that a yogi has to master yoga later on, after childhood, after he leaves his parental environment. For example, that is your present situation. So what doyou do? Well you work day and night at any opportunity to squeeze out of your life some time for yoga practice. You raise kundalini daily and you struggle with it to make it learn to take the higher passage. You have children, so you know what sex is, and of course every animal form, has to evacuate, so even the lower animals know about evacuation and sex. But you have to do your practice in such a way as to raise kundalini and introduce it repeated to the higherpassage and then perhaps, if you are luckily, if providence is with you, you might get kundalini to substitute that passage for the sex ate process but it is also part of bhastrika pranayama and kapala bhati, so as part of that you practice it and make sure that the navel area no longer holds any energy, like a banker hoarding money. So why do you think that the navel keeps some energy? It is not for itself. It is because kundalini has instructed it to do so, because everyone likes to hoard energy for use in what he enjoys.

“If I like to gamble, then I will hoard any money I get for use in the casino.Kundalini likes sex and it has instructed the navel chakra to hoard energy,call it hormones or whatever, for use in sexual pleasure. So you have to stop the navel from doing this. Well let me put it this way, if you fail to stop the navel from this, if you fail to change this natural construction of the psychic mechanisms in your psyche, then you will be fated to take the usual course when leaving the body.”
