I have been on a long personal spiritual journey for many, many years and it seems like for the past few I have been in somewhat of a spiritual doldrum. Even though I had tried meditation before a few times in my life, I wasn't sure why or what I was trying to achieve. The funny thing now, is the thing that made me interested in it again is I read somewhere that meditation is a great remedy for ADD/ADHD and I feel sometimes that I suffer from those types of concentration problems. So, I started meditating primarily to help with my focus at work and in other places in my life but as I was studying the different techniques, I found myself MORE interested in the spiritual benefits of meditation! I now feel that I have been uplifted out of my spiritual stagnation and am now back in exciting motion and change.
And now it seems that as I use meditation primarily for spiritual growth, and sort of forgot about the ADD/ADHD reason, that I can stay focused on WHATEVER I am experiencing RIGHT NOW whether it is learning a new programming language or what my wife is saying to me.
Anyway, whatever it took to get me practicing this, I am glad I started and I am most interested in your story! Please share! :-)
May Peace Love and Light be with you all! - Matt

Hi Matthew
It is good that you are enjoying meditation again.
I meditate for a number of reasons. First, it is relaxing and I find I sleep well after a session. Second, I am hoping to increase both my spiritual connections and to tune into Mother Earth (Blessed Mother, giver of life) again. We have had a number of earthquakes over the past six months and I have lost the connection with nature that I once had. Last year when I was really in tune with nature I was visited by an elemental, I want to reconnect with this being. Finally, I have a sick friend who has cancer, while meditating I try and direct healing thoughts her way.
May your pastures always be green - Cheers David
