I think it is important to know how dimensions relate in order to know how to operate....here is a tube which demonstrates that the relationship between dimensions is merely the addition of another axis of rotation...there is no wall or barrier....
this also demonstrates that symmetry is of the utmost importance....
that translates to mean the symmetry in the tools you use (such as crystals) will limit your ability based on the amount of symmetry.....example; natural Kyanite has a symmetry on one plane. where and corundum (sapphire has a 3-D symmetry) synthetic or lab created corundum has the highest clarity...(It is also a whole lot cheaper)
The higher planes of existence are more symmetrical it would make sense that the tools used to get there must also be also be of the highest symmetry no matter where they are from....
