CHAPTER XIII
There is a mystical sound that the YOGUI must learn to listen to. The AZTECS knew that mystical sound. Let's remember the hill of CHAPULTEPEC. A Mexican codex represents a cricket on the hill. In ancient Rome of the Caesars the cricket was sold between cages of gold at very high prices. The magicians of ancient Rome bought this little animal to use it in Practical Magic.
If we have that little animal near the head of the bed, and if we meditate on its delicious song, then we will hear the subtle voice in moments of dozing. This phenomenon is similar to that of two equally tuned pianos. If we play, for example, the B note of either of the two pianos, on the other piano the same note is repeated without a human hand touching it. This is a very interesting vibratory phenomenon that anyone can check out. Exact thing happens with the mysterious song of the cricket. Inside the human brain there is the mystical sound that resounds when the little animal sings. It is a matter of affinity and vibration.
The feeding of this little animal is not a problem, we know that it eats vegetables, it also eats clothes in family homes, and people fear it because nobody wants to lose their clothes. Anyone can get that little animal in the bush.
He who knows how to listen to the subtle voice can instantly go out in the astral body whenever he wants. If the devotee concentrates on the song of the cricket ... if the yogi meditates on the song of the cricket ... if the yogi falls asleep listening to that song, soon the same song, will resonate in the brain the same mystical sound, the subtle voice. Then the doors of mystery are open. In those moments the Gnostic can get up from his bed quite naturally and leave his house in the astral body.
It is not about getting up with the mind, what we are saying must be translated into facts. Get up, the devotee, get up from your bed with complete naturalness that nature will take care in those moments to separate the astral body from the physical body.
Outside the physical body we feel a delicious spiritual voluptuousness. There is no greater pleasure than that of feeling the detached soul. In the superior worlds we can talk with INEFFABLE GODS. In the higher worlds we can study at the feet of the Master. Thus we free ourselves from so much theory, thus we drink from the living fountain of knowledge.
Every devotee must learn to listen to the subtle voice. With the mystical sound, the devotee can perform wonders and prodigies.
If the devotee wants to hear the mystical sound, his concentration must be perfect. At first the student will hear many sounds, but if he concentrates intensely on the cricket song, he will finally be able to hear it. Then there will be VICTORY. With the mystical sound we inevitably arrive at ILLUMINATION.
The mystical sound in the last synthesis comes from the calm heart. We must look for the remote origin of the mystical sound in the DIVINE MOTHER. The devotee should pray a lot, begging the DIVINE MOTHER to grant him the grace to hear the mystical sound.
With the grace of the DIVINE MOTHER, every devotee can have the happiness of listening to the mystical sound that allows us to instantly exit in the astral body.
The devotee who wants to successfully perform these practices must to give himself to inner meditation when he is truly feeling quite sleepy. Know that EVERY ESOTERIC EXERCISE OF MEDITATION WITHOUT THE SLEEP FACTOR, IS HARMFUL, USELESS, STERILE. DAMAGES THE MIND AND RUINS THE BRAIN.
Inner meditation must be intelligently combined with sleep.
If the Gnostic student unfortunately does not have in his possession the wonderful little animal mentioned in this chapter, then he must make the letter S resonate, like this: Sssssssssssss, like a very fine and delicate whistle (LIPS OPENED AND THE TOP TEETH TOUCHING WITH THE TEETH OF BELOW) behind that very fine sound, there is the subtle voice that allows us to instantaneously exit in the astral body.
For internal meditation the devotee should choose a very comfortable position. Next we are going to mention two very comfortable positions.
Lie down the devotee in the corpse position. Place your arms at your sides resting on the bed or on the floor (where you are lying down) Stretch your legs well as corpses have stretched out, then bring the heels together, separating the tips of the feet to the right and left in the shape of a hand fan.
The devotee lies down in the position of a flaming star, opening the legs and arms to the right and left and with the body well relaxed, we have the figure of the five-pointed star. This is the MASTER position. The great MASTERS use this position for internal meditation. Before this figure the tenebrous ones flee full of terror. When the MASTER gets up, he leaves there his fiery likeness that makes the dark ones flee.
Devotees should not meditate on a full stomach. It is necessary for the devotees to give up the gluttony.
BREAKFAST: Toasted bread with honey and hot milk. Some fruits can be added to breakfast.
NOON MEAL (Lunch): Lunch should be based on vegetables and fruits. All kinds of grains should also be eaten. Meat is to eat death and suffering therefore is not convenient to the brothers of the path.
DINNER: Hot milk and bread with honey. That's it; nothing else.
Meditation should be done at ten at night. You should also meditate at sunrise. If the student practices at 10 p.m. and at dawn, then he will progress rapidly.
