The primary reason we script our lives and stage-manage our behavior is fear.
What we fear varies from person to person. Most fear death. Others the inability to feed, house and clothe themselves. Others loneliness. On and on the list goes.
A great deal of fear arises out of a mistaken view of love. We view the lion’s share of love as having come to us from others. And so we take those whose love we seek and do everything in our power to keep them around, keep them on good terms, keep the love flowing, etc.
However the lion’s share of love comes from our own heart. All the feather shaking and tail wagging, all the lairs and lures we create simply firm up the illusion that love is gotten from outside, when it isn’t.
All of these reasons to script our behavior we could lump together under the heading “Survival.” We fear for our survival. The things that appear to ensure our survival are seen as essential needs.
Then there are the non-essential wants – primarily, the desire to feel important, look good, and be seen as right.
I’m surprised at the number of people who write me and, in their own words, want to be “rock stars” among lightworkers, “famous,” and similar things (these are actual words that were used). Lightworkers don’t seem immune to self-importance.
People are claiming to be incarnations of Archangel Michael, avatars, exotic goddesses, elohim, etc.
If they really were, I don’t think they’d be saying so. Ok, perhaps to their confidantes, soul group, or others with a need to know. But not publicly.
This effort is a simple acting out of the desire to create, sell and manage an impression. This is all scripted behavior. This all amounts in the end to nothing.
And this is only the thin edge of the wedge. The management of our impression goes on down to the briefest of encounters in our everyday life. I’ve managed and floated an impression several times today. And the day isn’t over.
Knowledge of the truth usually removes the need to script our behavior. For instance, knowing that we’re all of us already immortal should remove the fear of death. What’s to fear? We’ll be the same person one minute after we leave our bodies that we were one minute before, minus the aches and pains. And we end up at Club Med. (Just kidding.)
To be able to live our lives without needing to resort to image management and scripted behavior is one of the signs of a master, in my books. It takes much personal work to utterly abandon our fears and live from love alone. But that’s what we came here to do.
