A large group of algae, known as diatoms have been found to be present in the meteorite that fell in Aralaganwila on December 29 last year.
Director of the Buckingham University Professor Chandra Wickramasinghe drew comparison between diatoms present in the meteorite and the red rains that have been experienced in the country.
