Artist Manipulates 48 Pools of Water with Her Mind
Creators Project
"Brain power" takes on a literal meaning when it comes to EEG painting, mind-responsive furniture, and the work ofLisa Park. Park combines EEG scanning with speakers and pools of water to visualize her thoughts and emotions. Last year, she exposed her brain patterns to the world with Eunoia, in which she placed five water-filled metal plates atop speakers designed to respond to her real-time brain data. In that project, Park sorted the data into five emotions—sadness, anger, desire, happiness, and hatred, one per plate. But the latest iteration of the project takes the experiment to the next level:
Eunoia II is outfitted with 48 vibration pools, inspired by the 48 emotions philosopher Baruch Spinoza outlined in his book, Ethica, like frustration, excitement, engagement, and meditation. Each speaker vibrates according to Park's brain wave-interpreting algorithm, which tranforms intense signals from Park's Emotiv EEG headset into intense vibrations in the pools of water. Here, Park is literally putting her inner struggles on display, and the whole show depends on how she deals with her feelings.
"I started working with biosensors especially EEG headset, because I questioned "how can I take this invisible energy and emotions and make it visible?" Park told The Creators Project. "When I am feeling certain emotions (anger, sadness, happiness), I believe that what's inside me, more than 60% of water in human body, will create vibrations/energy within myself. So, I wanted to create an artwork that represents the inner part of myself."
Eunoia II metaphorically gives Park's inner self faculty and visibility, continuing the exploration she began in her first Eunoia performance, tenfold.

nice one, Vlada..
My name is Vlada,...and Oh sorry I cant do that, change the title as its not my article it would be seen as editing someone else's work..I simply posted it for the sheer beauty it infuses, just as it was posted on the another site..but thank-you I'm pleased you saw her art as cool,I think many others would appreciate her serenity using this medium,of water and energy waves in this manner..
@(will get it when I update my character-table)
"no one else has portrayed this in the way she has"
Actually. There have been multiple laborations done with remote controlling through EEG.

"please dont turn a beautiful piece of art into a horrid illusion from your own minds perception"
I didn't do that. You did it, when setting the title for this post.
If you post an article with this title on a spiritual blog, people will immediately assume you're talking about telekinesis, instead of electronic remote control through EEG. ;)
"instead embrace it for what it simply is, that of creativity to bring forth into a visual aspect using water.."
I can appreaciate that. :)
"and its beautifully portrayed, its serene and visually calming... "
As a minimalist artist, I'm rarely impressed with things that cost more than a thousand dollars to perform. :)
I will however stretch myself as far as to conclude that:
This is Cool :)
But, change the title. It's misleading.
Oh no no no Acute Observer please before you jump so fast to your own conclusions about this beautiful artist, firstly she's not claiming a elaborate illusionist magic trick, that's not her intention at all.. she's an artist, this is a art form media and a beautiful one at that,no one else has portrayed this in the way she has and I agree she's not claiming to be a psychic actually moving the water with her mind only,... yes she is using speakers,& EEG yes she is using technology to pick up her energy waves but its all as a art form..please dont turn a beautiful piece of art into a horrid illusion from your own minds perception, instead embrace it for what it simply is, that of creativity to bring forth into a visual aspect using water..and its beautifully portrayed, its serene and visually calming...
But, she isn't vibrating them with her mind. She's sending commands to a computer through EEG, which then power speakers which in turns are affecting the water.
Remove the computer and speakers from this experiment and you'll see no changes at all in the water. ;)
In short: An elaborate illusionist magic-trick.
