Robert Plant and Alison Krauss are currently selling a lot of tickets on their 2023 U.S. "Raising The Roof" tour. Most of the songs they perform are written by a variety of artists; the duet appears to be showing an appreciation for the non-urban U.S. music of yesterday (which has inspired so many artists). The popularity of this singing pair looks like it is increasing in 2023 after their second album, and this is eerily similar to the timeframe after Led Zeppelin II was released (but without the 1970's craziness. Drugs and loose sex are suddenly appearing to be not so wonderful in the 21st century). Because of the popularity of this duet, a look at the horoscopes of this pair via basic astrology techniques is thus warranted. Analysis of fixed stars will be added as well.
Horoscope of Robert Plant
The three Royal Stars of Persia (Regulus, Aldebaran, and Fomalhaut) along with the stars of Sirius and Betelgeuse define probable fame. Drawn in red above, the Ursa Major ("Great Bear") star pair of Alula Boreale and Alula Australe form a strong Conjunction with Robert Plant's Mercury placement ("communications"). I have noticed that either of these stars offer a "teflon coating" when placed in certain areas of the horoscope, but at the same time this star pair may also create powerful adversaries (and this is especially true when this teflon coating involves legal areas and politics, and one is successful at "beating the odds" in such areas of law or politics. Note that Michael Jackson [who beat Sony Entertainment] and Roger Stone [who helped defeat Hillary Clinton in 2016] have their natal Sun positions near this star pair; one died of a drug overdose and the other is near bankrupt). In the case of Robert Plant, the Mercury placement with this star pair may have protected him in the courts to a certain extent over his communications involving folk and blues music. BUT PLEASE REMEMBER THIS: "good artists copy, great artists steal, and rich artists get sued." Below are what my notes say about this star pair:
Alula Borealis | Hindmost foot of Ursa Major. The northern Alula; it is more fortunate than the southern Alula. Associated with female infidelity & revenge. The Great Bear gives a quiet, prudent, suspicious, mistrustful, self-controlled, patient nature, but an uneasy spirit; great anger when roused. | 6° Vir 39 | 6° Vir 47 | Fortunate | Mars/ Venus/ Saturn | ν (Nu) Ursæ Majoris |
Alula Australis | Hindmost foot of Ursa Major. The southern Alula, it is less fortunate than the northern Alula. Associated with female infidelity & revenge. The Great Bear gives a quiet, prudent, suspicious, mistrustful, self-controlled, patient nature, but an uneasy spirit; great anger when roused. | 7° Vir 21 | 7° Vir 29 | Fortunate | Mars/ Venus/ Saturn | ξ (Xi) Ursæ Majoris |
The Moon can represent "the public," but since the Moon is a luminary like the Sun it can have a similar action with the "flashlight spotting on or shining on" type of role that the Sun can symbolize in the horoscope. Thus, "public attention on Plant's communications" as a definition with the Moon Opposition Mercury placement works well as a definition with this horoscope placement. Note the star of Sadalachbia in Conjunction with the Moon also works very well with the Mercury Opposition. Below are what my notes say about this star:
Sadalachbia | Success in ventures, personal charm, movement to rich pastures, aviation, discovery of lost items, "the Star of Hidden Things" | 6° Pis 43 | 6° Pis 51 | Fortunate | Venus/ Mercury | γ (Gamma) Aquarii |
Horoscope of Alison Krauss
Eerily similar to Robert Plant, Alison Krauss has a Leo Sun and the natural ruler of Pluto in the 8th House (and Krauss also has Pluto in Conjunction with the star of Zafijava ["the beautiful one"]). Both Plant and Krauss have Neptune placed in the 10th House, and note that Bob Marley also had Neptune in the 10th House ("the artist," "poet," or "the musician/singer"). The "star" of Toliman (Alpha Centauri) is well-placed between Krauss's Jupiter Conjunction Neptune placement in the 10th House; there is almost a religious or philosophical "priestess" feeling about this 10th House placement. Mercury in Leo (near the same position of Plant's Sun Conjunction Saturn placement) is forming a Square with this Jupiter/Neptune placement, and Pluto in the 8th House adds a transformation energy with the Sextile to the Jupiter Conjunction Neptune placement. Note that occultist and filmmaker Kenneth Anger had Toliman in Conjunction with his Ascendant. Below are what my notes say about Toliman:
Toliman | Occult and philosophical learning, self analysis, honours; beneficence, friends, refinement; high position; stubborn, cruel; stormy or spoiled relationships with women; need for freedom. Sometimes known as Bungula, or Rigel Kentaurus | 29° Sco 36 | 29° Sco 44 | Fortunate | Venus/ Jupiter | α (Alpha) Centauri |
Below are what my notes say about Procyon. The midpoint formula of Sun / Venus ("the artist") is within 20 minutes of being in the same position of this star:
Procyon * | Wealth, fame, good fortune; sharp mind, willpower, stubbornness; violence, sudden success then disaster, occult, politics, dissipation; death by drowning; love of dogs; dogbites | 25° Can 47 | 25° Can 55 | Very Fortunate | Mars/ Mercury | α (Alpha) Canis Minoris |
The Composite Chart of Robert Plant and Alison Krauss
Highlighted in orange above, the symbolism of Sun/Saturn as "the old man" (no offense Robert) pairing up with "the communicator" (Krauss's Mercury) works together very well. Added to this is a lucky composite placement involving Plant's natal Jupiter forming a harmonious trine with Krauss's natal Moon (in pink above). This is a great placement for Plant and Krauss at this time since their 2023 U.S. schedule has a focus on a lot of the non-urban areas of the U.S. who have young people familiar with Krauss along with an older crowd familiar with Plant. The symbolism of Plant's Uranus ("the rebel") with Krauss's Neptune ("the artist," "poet," or "the musician/singer") also works well. Another big plus (in light yellow highlight above) is the exact Square between Plant's Mars position and Krauss's Venus position. WOW. But here's the "fly in the ointment" problem. Highlighted in blue above, Alison Krauss's natal Saturn Opposition Neptune placement falls on top of Robert Plant's East/West (Ascendant/Descendant) horizon plane. This implies that Plant and Krauss may have issues with any rising populaity with the current authorities in the music industry (who are also the same people in the suits who place emphasis of the national spotlight on singers like Taylor Swift, Lady GaGa, and Snoop Doggy Dog). Thus, these industry people may not want a duet like Robert Plant and Alison Krauss in the national spotlight due to their style of music, which was inspired and written by great American artists of the past. This is because thinking or communicating about past ideas or concepts in today's environment can be a censorship offense due to the way the media and internet operate today when peoples' feelings get hurt.
Are Plant and Krauss the next big thing? I really hope so. They are providing a new kind of music that is reminiscent of non-commercial blues and folk music that we listened to in the 20th century that made us feel so good (intoxicated or straight). I will confess to being a Led Zeppelin stoner in the 1970's, and my proudest claim was that I actually introduced the music of Led Zeppelin's "Physical Graffiti" to jazz greats Wynton and Branford Marsalis while we were in high school together in the 1970's (and both were floored, especially with the song "In My Time of Dying." Definitely a Louisiana delta blues thing). For a fantastic performance of this Louisiana delta blues music that is combined with folk music being performed by Plant and Krauss, check out this 2022 performance of Robert Plant and Alison Krauss doing Led Zeppelin's "When The Levee Breaks" (which can and will be a nighmare if you live near the Mississippi River delta area).
