I was just a blond girl, moving around in the wagon with my mom and dad witch was seeking a brand new start..The Cherokeé indians brutaly killed my parents and I was shortly after adopted to the Sioux tribe! Even thought Blue Elk had cut my dress off so that it fell down and I stood only in underwear in the eyes of the other yooung Sioux men, I grew quickly fond of Blue Elk. He saved me from a sertain death after all...
I learned the daily rutines for the women in the Sioux village! It was not much different from I was used to except for few things..There where no houses, only tipis and i learned the skill how to make clothes, shawls etc..
But the best thing I knew was to spend my time with Blue Elk! He thought me meny thing! One thing that I found very EXCITING was when Blue Elk took him with me to hunt deer! He teached me how to find the deer tracks, how to sneek and stalk a deer...That was so exciting, cause I had never don something like that before! Because my father was the one that was hunting food for uss, we women and girls where supose to bee home in the house and do the household things, cooking, cleaningm, waching etc...To bee with Blue Elk hunting deer was the most exciting I had ever don back then...He was such a great hunter. Not only did Blue Elk teach me how to hunt deer. He also teached me how to fish too! He even teached me how to use the bow..that was a bit tricky! I never got as good as him with the bow, but at least I was able to get my own pray with the bow when I was out hunting with Blue Elk!
Sometimes the arrow just went where ever and guess who was giggeling at it! Blue Elk of cause! Then he came behind me and helped me get my posission and arms right to shoot. I needed to practise a lot with the bow and arrows! Most of times since I was not so good with the bow and arrow like he was, I only cought a rabbit or other small animal...
He was the one that allways had the deers, elks etc, while I came proudly showing off my pray, a rabbit! He smiled when I proudly showed him what I had cought, a bunny! He then said " Great catch!" and he giggled.
One day, I´ll have Xzai-On to teach me how to use the bow again! It was realy fun to use it and would not mind to use the bow and arrow again. But of cause this time I would use a round target to shoot at....my, soul has allways been more home with the natives more than with the whites...
