I wrote this for my husband and felt compelled to share--because as players in an infinite play, I am certain we feel this love universally for one another. Much love to you in this moment :)
With my vision--
not those I hold with my eyes
but with my heart--
I remember you and I
reflected in a perfect art
As brothers, fighters, lovers,
Perhaps a father and son
Some may squawk at this confession
But I remember we are one
The time I double crossed you,
And when you spat at me
Where I got on bended knee
And confessed my love to thee
Where we wore the shields of enemies
And you watched my limbs expire
Where I fired aimlessly
At your body pinned in wire
When I smiled warmly
as you lie sleeping on my chest
The time I looked up and told you
"Daddy you're the best."
When I locked your door
and threw away the key
Where you told me there were things
That I ought and should not see
The time you took the blame
for a fault that was mine
And a time when we were certain
Our lives are love in the divine
When I hear a story
and see your face in EVERY scene
From sinner, lover, protector
Killer, dissident and captor
In times of joy and pride,
Fear and loving benefactor
I knew then and I know now
Of the love that lies between us
When you were Mars and I Jupiter,
We still uncover Venus
This journey of reflection at this moment is undone
For I remember that you and I
will always equal one.
I love you!
