Just wanted to say that Ashtar Command Community has been around since 2006 and I rarely ask members for donations to support the cost of running the website. I actually spend $2,000+ per year to have the community up and running with all features and services.
People easily take things for granted after a while if it’s free, but the truth is that it costs money to have a community online with 14,000+ members.
If you feel you can support with anything, it would help immensely. If not, it’s OK. I’m not writing these kinds of blogs often at all. But I have to start to post them at least once or twice every 6 months, to keep everything rolling, as we live in a world where you pay for services.
Ashtar Command Community will always be free and I trust the website will be supported by those who really love to be here. I’m not asking for donations out of any lack; I ask for it because I care about the growth of the community in the long run.
I truly appreciate you, no matter if you give something or not. I have to be more upfront about donations, as I truly want the website to grow. Money is not everything, but it helps a lot and will make me feel more confident that the website is cared for by all of us as a community. I’ve waited too long to post these kinds of blogs and I hope you understand why I’ve done it =)
It’s always great to know in your heart that people truly care about the website and want to see it transform and grow into something that we built together.
