Magician Dynamo has partnered with Pepsi Max and did his first Pepsi Max sponsored magic stunt in London....

Levitating Magician, Dynamo, Stuns Onlookers By Floating Beside London Double-Decker Bus;

Dynamo, a 30-year-old British illusionist named Steven Frayne, stunned onlookers Sunday as he seemingly levitated in the air while leaning on the side of a 543 bus, he travelled across Westminster Bridge with one hand placed on top of the red double-decker bus. Passengers, who were travelling in the bus looked on in amazement and took pictures of the entertainer, as he was dangling in mid-air, according to the Independent. The act was performed as part of a promotional launch for Pepsi Max's #LiveForNow campaign.

The stunt certainly managed to create a buzz. On the street, some chased the bus to record the act with their phones, while others simply stared in amazement, according to ABC News.Dynamo might have managed to shock bystanders; Many took to Twitter to discuss the gravity-defying feat, readers went to the site's official Facebook page to discuss the levitation and boiled the trick down to a fake arm.

German performance artist Johan Lorbeer has performed a similar levitation stunt -- standing in mid-air with his arm outstretched, hand touching a flat surface -- in countries such as Egypt, France and Spain, the Telegraph notes. A photograph from one of his Egypt performances shows a prosthetic arm attached to a metal bar and an apparatus for the body.

Nevertheless, some still think Frayne deserves kudos. David Penn, another British illusionist, praised Dynamo's "excellent" trick and said it must've taken months to plan. "To present that illusion in a urban environment like that is incredibly challenging, especially on the side of a moving bus. It really pushes the boundaries," he told the Telegraph. "It was probably incredibly dangerous; he's got a lot of guts."

Pepsi explained the campaign in an April 2012 news release sent to ABC News, saying the marketing push would “invite and inspire Pepsi fans to live each moment to the fullest through a breadth of global, pop-culture platforms, including relationships with music and entertainment brand evangelists, digital innovation, epic events and unique partnerships.”

The Bradford-born illusionist, was performing a publicity stunt for soft drinks brand, Pepsi Max. As apparently there is not an actual 543 bus route to Victoria, And it was actually going in the wrong direction for Victoria. The people traveling on 543 London bus, were all part of the act too.

"This is one of the most exciting things I've ever attempted," he said, "My partnership with Pepsi MAX is all about living for now and nothing explains this better than by taking one of London's most iconic modes of transport and putting a different spin on the journey. The reaction of the public as I was travelling was incredible and it was great to see so many people taking in the excitement."

Alas, a magician never pulls back the curtain, and Frayne hasn't revealed how exactly he did it..........

  • Perhaps, but a lot of these illusions are simply using absolute balance, phenomenal it's self, like I said before all these people who attempt these feats are worthy of many plaudits, as it takes many years in some cases to perfect these acts.

To be an absolute brilliant illusionist, takes a lot of skill, ingenuity and innovation and to some extent people reading.

    All to entertain.

  • Funny FW.....

  • Quantum physics/science....Liquid nitrogen super conductor at a science fair....very interesting.....and???

Humans and tech/science are advancing all the time....but the likes of levitation, is still in the realm of illusion and probably will be for a very long time yet, whether humans would ever accomplish this is speculation.

  • PPK...Yes.... well obviously... it was 'real' he really was attached to the bus.......but certainly not 'really' levitating, that much has already been established.

  • If we posses the consciousness to create this,....

...we posses the consciousness to levitate.

  • Whatever he is doing is real.

As for it being levitation in the true sense of the word,...

    Is levitation possible?

Our magnetic field already interacts with Gaias magnetic field and it keeps us planted on the ground.

Is not jumping a conscious method of temporarily altering how our magnetic fields interact, via bio/electro/chemical alterations of our physical posture?

So that we generate enough energy to overcome the effects of gravity, albeit for a moment?

Why can some people jump further than others?

Doesn't it ultimately come down to intent?

Levitation is taking this intent to it's logical conclusion.

  • The 'levitating monks' used similar structures under flowing cloaks, still as I said damn good illusions....

KB the feat as explained in the article was a marketing gimmick, the last 3 short paragraphs give you plenty info to realise that this is simply an illusion, along with the many other seemly fantastic and unbelievably impossible acts that he and many others have performed.

  • Beloved LightBeing, he was not the first one to perform this magical levitation - it was done by many.  And the secret was already revealed over the net (I seen it - with a metal supporting system).  No surprise for me but it is pure entertainment for others.  Thanks for sharing.
