Simon Dale is a family man in Wales, the south western part of Great Britain. His interest in self-sustainability and an ecological awareness led him to dig out and build his own home—one of the loveliest, warmest, most inviting dwellings you could ever imagine.
This building is one part of a low-impact or permaculture approach to life. This sort of life is about living in harmony with both the natural world and ourselves, doing things simply and using appropriate levels of technology. These sort of low cost, natural buildings have a place not only in their own sustainability, but also in their potential to provide affordable housing which allows people access to land and the opportunity to lead more simple, sustainable lives.

Amazing and wonderful...if he ever... that is...if he ever wants to sell it i will surely be most interested...i can imagine me inside logged on to www.ashtarcommandcrew.net....my nice hideout from the rest
this guy needs to be hired as a 'new earth' architect and start to show the old world house builders how to do it!
To live off grid, albeit in this kind of home - even a workplace - a creative space - a meditation space - play space - community space - party space - (wow, imagine the acoustics resonating through the wood!) whatever the imagination chooses - would be a wonderful place to simply BE... The whole ethos of them & also how they are built by many helpers - GREAT! Here's to living in hope that it can be available for those that wish it. I have come across architectural designs for many different types & love the idea that they're built in many wonderful shapes & sizes........here's one website:

Eternal LOVE & LIGHT to you O:-D
I saw that house a while ago at least, it's quite beautiful. More people should be allowed to do the same. :)
ok, i'm still staring at it. I just love the way the home looks "living"and not a square un-interesting box.
OH.MY.GOODNESS. I absolutely *love* this. It's like living in a tree house :) It's beautiful and it has such a warm glow-y energy. This is exactly what my husband and I have been wanting to do. Thanks for sharing!!!! It was perfect timing.
